FDA Mandates Larger Warning Labels

I was shocked when I saw the warnings on this new snus. but, look where they put it, on the used portion tray. I would simply throw away the snus catcher top.

I do think items that contain flour and sugar, as well as high glycemic natural foods should have large warning labels: "This product may cause diabetes and cardiovascular disease and cancer".

What are larger warnings going to accomplish... it's not like when I started smoking I did it because I thought it would be like taking vitamins. How many tobacco users do you know that see a warning and say "Hey, I had no idea this was bad for me"? Yet another waste of my tax money... I bet it cost a lot of money for the committee to think this one up

They should just put warning labels on every product ever made... ever! somebody told me that if I let my grilled chicken get a little charred around the edges, that it could give me cancer... seriously, some people need to worry less about how and when they are going to die, and live a little before they die. I'd rather enjoy another 5 years, than live another 40 worrying about my impending demise!

I get the impression from these labels that they are trying to get us to go back to cigarettes... I just wonder if the American Tobacco Lobby is behind any of this... Not that I'm a conspiracy theorist, but it just seems like overkill to me. I've never seen warning labels on cigarettes here in the U.S. with that size print.

Snus should be placed in a different category than American smokeless tobacco. Here are some TRUTHFUL warnings I wouldn't be opposed to having on snus containers and advertisements:

Warning: This product is 90%-99% less harmful than smoking.

Warning: This product causes fewer dental problems than sugar.

Warning: Users of this product have the same life expectancy as non-tobacco users.

Warning: This product does not cause oral cancer.

Warning: This product prevents dental cavities.

You will soon - like a month. Cigarette stock moves faster, so snus would have had to be re-marked earlier to hit compliance deadlines.

Yea, but this one is only allowed on Claq Qui - and in a secret deal with the FDA this has been discontinued.
