Comparing snus to other types of smokeless tobacco is unfounded and simply foolish. One thing doctors and major health organizations need to understand: different types of smokeless tobacco have different effects. For example, Sudanese Toombak is highly carcinogenic and significantly increases the risk of mouth cancer, while snus does not raise the risk of oral cancer at all. I think Dr. Rodu should make a chart comparing the risks of different smokeless tobacco products; snus would be at the least-harmful end of it.

I wish they would simply say something along the lines of "not as bad as ______". These all or nothing write ups are annoying and don't hold up to the same quality as many other "better" papers when concerning such stuff. I mean, look at many of the papers published at PubMed that talk about nicotine and tobacco use, they always maintain a some what a neutral standpoint and do not instantly jump the "this is bad, only bad!" There is always has to be some pos/cons to stuff.
But meh, propaganda is not known for it's cutting edge reporting of facts so I guess what ever. And I don't see that they can get as much recognition if they are to say "Snus, is in fact, a safer alternative to other tobacco products", emphasis on the safer. But I guess that is almost like claiming that the more serious drugs, often times ilegal, can actually achieve a positive effect when administrated under controlled circumstances.
Heh, basically. Instead of being honest, reasonable and honest with their claims, this as many other papers are just going with the herd and are afraid to admit that anything actually has any beneficial effect, especially with moderation of course.
Ignorance feeds ignorance.

By not separating snus out from the general run of smokeless and not admitting its advantages Mayo, hardly alone in this blinkered intransigence, is committing gross medical irresponsibility. The only possible conclusion is that for venal political reasons they simply do not care because it is virtually impossible that they are not aware of the advantages of snus over traditional American style smokeless. This is nothing short of gross malfeasance and intentional misrepresentation of well established unequivocal medical data. This does not verge on criminal behavior but rather meets any reasonable definition of it precisely. They are of course but one of many malefactors in this regard but they are especially culpable because they are using their long established reputation as an institution of serious and sober mien to perpetrate a transparent fraud. Great is the shame they now bear.

Public information about smoking and health should be expanded to include objective and unambiguous information regarding nicotine's part in the harmfulness of smoking and the harmfulness of different nicotine-containing products compared to smoking. This is essential in order to preclude that misperceptions regarding these matters could discourage smokers from adopting effective cessation practices with use of nicotine-containing aids.
Good stuff ^

I can feel that when I'm snusing and don't want to eat, for example in the morning, I try to eat bread but I just don't feel like I want it, just not interested in it.
I started going boxing a few weeks ago, I can visibly see the fat layer on my stomach decreasing.
