Thanks to snus, I hadn't had a dip of American Fiberglass tobacco since Oct 2009 up until about a month ago when I've started using sporadically again in fear of a backup plan for this PACT & FDA bullshit taking away some of my favorite snus.

Completely smoke free for over two weeks now (was pretty much smoke free for a few months but had one while visiting my old high school friend) and the best part is I haven't even THOUGHT about smoking. I was cleaning my apartment this morning and found a half full pack of smokes and didn't even flinch or stop and think before ditching them in the garbage. Before this the only smokes I ever threw away were the three that had been in my apartment during a fire and had absorbed the plastic and other nasty smoke (yes, I tried one to make sure they were bad before throwing them away). I'm so excited to be smoke free and not feel grumpy and angry and bitchy the way I had in my previous attempts to quit smoking. I don't feel regret, I don't WANT to smoke anymore, which has never happened to me before. I wish I could shout from the rooftops how awesome this product is for anyone struggling with nicotine addiction.

Count me as smoke free and truly FREE.

Update: Have only been lurking the site from time to time, but just wanted to update. Five months off the death sticks. Haven't touched a one. I'm running again and lungs feel great. I used to have a practically permanent cold all throughout winter, and the last couple years a bad case of pneumonia every winter, but it's almost January and I haven't had so much as a sniffle or cough.

Just over 10 weeks here, had about a month before that barely a dual user as I weened off cigs. Snuff and Snus helped me get there.

Straight switch, no dual use unless you count F&T old paris snuff. Been off the cigs for 18 months. I was trying to quit for ten years, never got beyond six months before now and I was using an insane amount of nicotine gum in previous attempts; about 20 4mg a day. I normally use 5 or 6 portions a day and only use sterks occasionally. Quitting with snus has been a breeze.

holy crap!! Snus is helping to keep so many people from smoking.

I just wanted to congratulate all the new non-smokers on a job well done.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Snus has me almost 100% off cigs. Am down to 1-2 a day from 2 packs a day. Soon, very soon, I hope I can completely stop.

*EDIT* Last cig I smoked was on Sept 5th.

It didn't help me quit, but it stopped me starting again.

2 months, 1 week and 5 days with out a smoke here! This was after 18+ years of one to two packs a day.... Huge difference in running/breathing, sleeping and have only put on about 5 pounds. So for me at least, snus is a blessing. I have not figured out the monetary savings yet but a can of snus lasts me for 3 to 4 days. I was not motivated to quit smoking because of monetary concerns although it was troubling me a bit to pay $40 a carton on base.

I started snusing last summer and finally quit smoking this January. At this point, I have refused cigarette offers because I prefer the feeling I get from snus (the nicotine buzz slowly comes on), and I don't cough my lungs up anymore. Haven't looked back since!

I too have been able to quit smoking due to Snus. I am so happy I found this product. I am still baffled by the lack of education that most people have around snus and the benefits of it. I am so happy my clothes don't smell anymore and also the fact that I can actually breath after a run or when I am playing sports. I really wish the US would wake up and see the reality of the benefits of snus. As we all know the BIG tobacco companies are keeping it down for their own profits on cigs.

I first quit with e-cigs, after the ryo tax increases of 4/09. However, I found e-cigs to be too high maintenance. So I started dicking around with snus that summer. I was pretty much hooked due to flavor, nic hit and ease of use/low maintenance at that point. I still smoke on a rare occasion. Usually, I smoke one cig on Friday night and one on Saturday night when I am out and about being all cosmopolitan. I pop a portion just as soon as I put the cig out.
