I was a pack a day smoker for about 15 years but since i found snus im going on 1 month cigarette free . I never realized all the burdens that came with smoking until now. Thinking back on it I don't think/ hope i never pick up a cigarette again.
Post your experiance here if snus helped you to quit smoking

it's been two weeks since i completely quit smoking through the use of snus and i love it.
my friend actually handed me a cig today. Interestingly enough, only a quarter way through, I didn't want it for the first time in my life and threw it out.
what a good feeling it was knowing i didn't need to finish that cigarette nor did i want anything out of it!

four or five years ago i started using snus to quit smoking. i smoked 35-40 years (i was a kid when i started and cant remember when i actually started). Now although i am on snus i do not smoke anything at all. The second best part is i do not sit around wishing i could smoke.
I will add that i never really "wanted" to quit smoking because I liked smoking. I quit because of health concerns but now I would not go back for anything.

I understand this. I smoked 26 years. Smoking was a social act for me. I could sit and smoke and chat for hours with family, or friends at my previous job (since no one smokes at my current one). Going out for smoke breaks was another social aspect. I even would come up with good ideas (work wise) while on a smoke break chatting with other smokers.
Since I quit smoking I find I can't be around other smokers (can't stand the smoke anymore) so I rarely talk to family anymore, the friends I used to hang out with never see me anymore. It's like getting married and never seeing your old buddies again.
I quit primarily due to traveling so much. Hotels have largely switched to non-smoking, rentals cars too, plus you can't smoke in most airports, and as I said no one at my current job smokes, so I felt like an idiot standing alone in the rain trying to catch a smoke. So I would find I was spending 80% of my day having nicotine fits.
I started snus at first just to cover the times when I couldn't smoke, but as I snused I found since I wasn't craving a smoke I would go hours even while home without smoking, and the less I smoked the more the smoke and smell bothered me until I quit completely.
There are many times I almost have a cig but I know if I did I would fall right back into bad habits. If it weren't for snus I would definitely have gone back to smoking by now (2 months shy of 2 years smoke free now).
