Nausea for quite some time because of snus?

    Hey all,

a couple of months ago someone told me about snus and I really wanted to try it, so i ordered some cans online and i was kind of satisfied, but because of that i didn't want to become an addict i decided to quit.
So, 2 weeks ago i decided to order some snus again and last monday my order came.
1 can of general original and 1 can of General onyx. I tried them both and I really liked them. (Especially the Onyx). I've used some of them and they weren't too strong how and it didn't matter how long i had them in my mouth. But yesterday afternoon when i came back home from school. My stomach was empty and i was a bit tired. I put a portion of general Onyx under my lip. It felt stronger then the portions i've used before, this week. But after 10 minutes i put it out of my mouth and i felt just chill but a bit dizzy. Suddenly i really felt like laying on the couch for some minutes and i was feeling sick. I had to puke once and the only thing coming out of my stomach was some water i used to flush my mouth. After 10 more minutes i needed to puke again but my stomach was empty. I wasn't feeling good at all so i decided to go to bed for some time. And after like 3 hours of sleeping i still wasn't feeling comfortable at all. And after 5 hours It was getting a bit better and i could eat without puking. The feeling was getting better in the evening.

Could this be a result of the snus? I mean, Nicotin has an halftime of 1 hour so you should think it would feel much better after 1/2 hours but i didn't. Could it still be the nicotin?
Many thanks if you know an explanation.

Could be if you swallowed alot of the juices at once on an empty stomach...... When I first started I got some general original and was not use to it and would get an upset stomach almost to the puke part but now I am packing 2 or 3 at a time and NOOOOOOOO Problems. I actually leave em in when I eat and sleep! Got one rolling almost 24/7 3 6 5!!!!!

Sounds like nicotine, like your body isn't used to it. If you are new to oral tobacco, and don't wanna be an addict, you really should just stop.

I agree with Tom. If you aren't addicted to Nicotine already, don't do it.

The feeling sick could be a result of using a strong snus on an empty stomach also.

Please don't pick up a new addiction. I have used snus to give up smoking, and it worked very well. I am also backing Tom on this. Don't do it.

Ditto, don't start any type of nicotine habit. Nicotine is the hardest thing to walk away from. Don't get started now if you don't have the habit. Do yourself a favor and give the cans you have to a smoker or dipper and help save their lives.

I know how addicting nicotine is that's why I only wanted to use the snus with special ocassions.

But it's good to hear such responses here. Maybe I did't take snus too serious as i should.

Thank you for all the responses.

Sounds like the first time I had nicotine overload. I had a CAO cigarillo and was watching video of a death metal concert by Vader. There I was puffing away on this thing (it had a real hard draw to begin with) digging the concert really getting into it. At this point in time I still lived at home with my parents and as I am watching the video Im starting to get this wavering and light headedness feeling going on. So I put the thing out didn't even finish it and go into the living room and sit down across from my parents. My mom looks at me and asks are you alright? This is when the cold sweat hits me and the room starts to feel like gravity as no hold in there anymore. Apparently I am turing white but Im am feeling rather green. It just keeps getting worse in waves this feeling of nausea and light headedness and cold sweat. I never puked but I most certainly felt like I was going too. It took about a half hour before I felt like moving out of that chair.

A similar thing happened when I first tried swedish snus which was Jakobsson's Ice Fruit. But nowhere near as bad. I knew when to stop. I like a good nicotine buzz but at this point in time I can not
get a buzz at all from regular snus. Thats one thing you have to look forward too if you use too much. The rather nice buzz you get that gives you a lift will go away. So Im gonna be cutting back and moderating my use so that I might be able to get that experience back. Using sterks and extra sterks isn't going to work for me because once you go up to that level every thing below isn't going to satisfy as much anymore.

Just wanted to throw that out there for ya so you could have some more info to go by.

Just remember. Any product containing Nicotine is going to be addictive. Stop while you still can.

Many people who are just trying cigarettes for the first time also puke. It's your body telling you it doesn't want the nicotine. I agree with everyone else here -- if you're not already addicted to nicotine, do yourself a favor and don't develop an addiction.

A good friend of mine is a clinical psychologist specializing in addiction treatment. He says he's seen hundreds of clients kick addictions to speed, heroin, and many other drugs -- but very few of them kick their nicotine addiction.

I'm no clinical psychologist but I'm fairly sure that I'd be able to quit nicotine before I quit smoking "herbal blends" or even drinking coffee, but that doesn't reflect on the relative addictiveness. If the perceived harm isn't high enough to outweigh the perceived benefit, no one is going to want to quit in the first place. No one has ever died from smoking a cigarette but people have died unexpectedly from a shot of H. Obviously this isn't the whole story (cocaine is safer than alcohol in regards to overdosing when taken nasally), but there's apparently a 50% genetic disposition to using nicotine so if you have a natural deficiency of norepinephrine or acetylcholine or dopamine or whatever it's very conceivable that the harmful effects of nicotine are less than the harmful effects of not-nicotine. I believe this is my case. Just sayin.

It's personal choice. However, if you don't want to carry around some sort of nicotine product at all times and risk your health to a degree (varies from which tobacco/nicotine product you use) don't use nicotine.

Some people can handle having nicotine only once in awhile others cannot. (such as myself)

I had that dizzy/heady feeling for about 1 day when I first started smoking. (recently stopped with a combo of snus/nasal snuff/e-cigarettes) I was almost instantly a pack/day smoker, obviously others do not "instantly" become addicted like me. So it really depends, but nicotine is dangerous to even consider for "once in awhile" use.

Do you all remember my buddy who tried a General Regular Portion for the
fist time? He puked. He's been a cig smoker for years yet he puked from the
snus. I got him to try the General Mini Portions and last I heard he was doing
good and had cut down his cig smoking significantly.

They say nicotine is harder to quit than heroin. This is true as I was a heroin addict for 7 years and am now 5 years clean but cannot kick the nic habbit. I aslo suggest staying away from nicotine.
