They say a lot of things. Something isn't true because of your individual experience.

It's all in the head. People have quit both.
Quit listening to the 12-step nazis who chain smoke.

I bet you'd quit cigs in one of our non smoking county jails.

    Snus is harm reduction.

I was in a non smoking county jail for 6 months and right as I got out I bummed a cig. But that is all in the past, I have quit smoking with snus over a year ago.

Cool. I was in a jail once myself and the first thing I did was light up when I was released.
I don't think it was because I still was having a nic fit. it was because I choose to smoke
        after the deprivation.

I know quitting cigs may be as hard or harder than some drugs. However i don't
like the self-fulfilling prophecies of defeat.

Great to hear you have switched to snus as a form of Harm Reduction.

I have 73 days without a cig myself.

Congratulations to you for over one year free of cigarettes!

        Welcome!

Coke, heroin, alcohol are easier to quit when your life is at stake.

Right and they do seem to cause more impairment.

                Yea, I guess I did. I was thinking July 2010 not 2009.

When are we going to get a decent smiley assortment here?
I can't even show my embarrassment

Thanks for the welcome after a year or so of being on this forum. I agree that choosing to smoke after realease was because of choice and not because of nicotine fit, but that is what was going through my head at the moment. I apologize for the prophecies of self defeat but that is what I went through, others may not go through the same as I did, maybe worse or better. Congrats on the 73 days without a cig!!! I respect everyones own personal experiance. Jail sucks and prison is worse. Keep it up!!

I've never been to prison. I've been told the food is better.
Also an outdoor yard, CD players and in some TVs you can
buy. Jail is a tin can. Although I hear prison has more games
as far as gangs and survival. Is this true?

Well I never actually made it to prison, thankfully, just did the 6 months in the county. Though I have a friend that did go, did time in a California state correction facility, and accourding to him the gang thing is true. Along with CD players, TV's, and video games.
