People will have to use their own judgment. I'd be leery of sending my DNA off to a researcher for whatever use. I'd be interested in hearing what the scope of the study is.

          "How can u tell?"

The word "dependence". If that is the true nature of the "study" then it is a waste of grant money and/or some grad student's time. If the real nature is an attempt to document harm levels of smokeless then it is legitimate but subject to manipulation of the data to advance a pre-determined agenda. It is excruciatingly difficult to not be suspicious of such studies in the present atmosphere of Tobacco Derangement Syndrome so prevalent in our country. You can call me a cynic but I hope not a sucker.

This guy doesn't identify himself or his research facility in any way. He doesn't mention his objectives either. They will probably take all the info, whether good or bad, and use it against us. The phone number listed is for an unidentified cell phone. I won't be sending this fellow any information whatsoever.

considers moving this thread to the mod area. but I'll wait
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I certainly hope you move/remove this thread if he doesn't respond here very shortly.

We've got enough crap to contend with already...

              Thanx, Darwin ^^^

I don't want to come across as being rude because I know that research does some extremely valuable work - but - this study is a no brainer. Yes - anything with nicotine causes dependence so why measure it? We already know that some people are more dependent on it than others and medical research already knows why. We also know why people use smokeless tobacco.

So that's that all wrapped up then.
