hi all im new here....

I just got into the snus thing...i was i knew about this stuff years ago, as it seems much safer than American tobacco .

my question is....i dipped Kodiak then skoal for years...like 17

im experimenting with General snuses......which would satisfy me like my old habit did....seems the Gen WG im not getting the hit im used to

im not even sure what a normal nicotine hit is from a nice pinch of skoal or kodiak...anyone know?

Welcome. I suggest you check the Dipper's guide to snus, that should give you some good suggestions. It's stickied in the newbie section.

I used to dip Skoal and Cope, occasionally Kodiak. General has never had enough nicotine to satisfy me. I suggest trying Odens ES, or Thunder. Thunder has mint (Frosted) and wintergreen which are both pretty good, and plain. I like Grov a lot too, it doesn't taste exactly like dip, but the flavor is very satisfying. Just remember that no snus is going to be exactly like dip as far as taste, but once your palate adjusts I think you will like it more. Everyone is different, but I find that snus does not tear up my gums the way dip did. Are you using los or portions? I used both at first, but switched over to los and find that it is better for me.

hmm kool i just read the sticky........i also have a pretty can of General onyx wich is supposed to be on the strong side.

i am curiois now...i wonder how much nic i was getting from a dip of skoal or kodiak

Jax wintergreen is quite delicious with a decent nicotine dosage.

Jakobsons is definitely one I'd reccomend, and I'd also recommend learning to use los snus, and trying ettan, grov, and Gotlands yellow(even though I haven't tried it the portions are great). Thunder frosted and other sterk snus are also good.

Oh skoal wintergreen has about 12mg of nic per gram but the ph is lower than snus in general the "average" pinch gives you 3mg in 30 minutes. Kodiak is absolutely insane it's something like 85 percent free base nic and not sure how much nic per gram.

I got 6-8 dips from a can back in the day. ES like Thunder and Odens are really the only ones that packed a punch like that. It didn't take long to work my way down to having an 8mg portion do the trick. It's all about conditioning. For me, it was about flavor. I got hooked on N&J East because of the flavor but they stopped making it. I'm still hoping for a throwback of that but I doubt it will happen. Then I found Grov...ahh Grov. I want to marry Grov. In fact, me, Grov, and N&J OP can live a very happy polygamist lifestyle.

Work on taking liquids with your snus. For me, at least initially, filling my mouth with flavor is what gave me the satisfaction of dip. The nicotine is there allbeit a little less.

Are you placing the snus in your bottom lip like dip? I've not done this but others do sometimes. Try that...and with los.

I tried an onyx portion and some los general i liked both

The los i need practice with cuz it tuned to mud in my mouth im used to ****in with it like dip

The general onyx was pretty good i felt the nic which was nice but not punching me in the face like kodiAk....even after years of dipping kodiak would always kick statrt my heart lol

JWALKER- yea i always felt like Kodiak was nuts and also more chemical than tobaaco but thats just my opinion

Lös needs a little TLC and then it'll last for hours. With the extra sterks like Thunder or Oden's you'll probably get a nic hit similar to Kodiac.

I also add / noticed snice using snus my heartrate doesnt spike like american dip would make it do,,which is very relaxing

Im still getting the nic but with out that adrenaline spike.....does that make any sense? anyone know the reason?

I'd guess it's due to quantity, and compactness. Dippers seem to use a crapload at once, with a fairly loose pinch. That's gonna give you a faster, harder nic hit, than a portion, or the typical lös pris size(hush Snuffy) :^D

One of my staples. It would be the closest thing there is to a WG dip in the snus world.
I have found that the quality of the product can be different between cans/online shops and highly recommend it comes from BuySnus.

Have opened cans that tasted like WG battery acid and other's that seem strikingly similar to Copenhagen WG.
