Onyx =?

Hey guys

Where would you experienced snusers put onyx ?

would u consider it realy strong or a good medium...im finding it a good med not a punch in the face.

11mg of nic seems good to me...where as some of the others with 16mg might be a bit much.....keep in mind im a new snuser coming from dip

It's about as strong as I like a snus. I'm not a fan of starks, and even less of extra starks. I'll only use stark snus occasionally, and only if that's the only way the flavor comes. Given a choice, I'll take standard strength every time.

No, it's a strong. Up until a year or so ago, that was about as strong as snus came. Then the nicotine wars started... :^D Regular snus is 8-9mg, I'd say stark is 10-13mg, and extra stark is 14mg+.

Considering that Skruf Stark is 14, I would say the ES category starts at 15, which is what General ES is. Other than that though, I agree. I only use ES snus when I feel I have to, which these days is a few times a day. When I first quit smoking, I had to use ES all the time, but I've gradually been moving to the regular strength. My goal is to just use 5 or 6 regular strength portions per day. I'm in no hurry though, slow and steady wins the race as far as I'm concerned.

I couldn't remember what the portions were. The stark lös is 10mg per gram. It isn't an exact science anyway. The ph affects the absorption, and the perceived effects of the nicotine. I've had regular snus kick my ass. Gellivare, and Offroad lös both have. I don't know why, I haven't noticed it in awhile, but I've gotten half sick from them, and they're both standard snus.

I don't find much a different in Onyx and N&J Black. Taste and strength wise.

In all seriousness...I enjoy Onyx right now at the beginning of every Patriots football game. It lasts the entire first half and is accompanied by coffee, tea, beer, or whiskey. I usually only have 2-3 cans per year as it's too robust in flavor for me to use regularly. It's a special occasion snus for me. As far as nic goes, it's strong. I don't get dizzy from it or anything...we have Thunder ES for that. I only use 1-2 sterks or ES per day and the first one is always the first snus of the day.

I only had one can of onyx and the portions going slimy turned me off. At the time, I did not reaalize it was a sterk but now I would. I only need a sterk snus when I want to do massive poopies. Regular strength snus is just fine for me and I find myself using less the longer I have been using snus. I do use a fair amount (less than half a gram though) of snuff in a day fwiw.

Just a warning: Onyx is great and has many fans, but it's flavor has turned on many newer users pretty quick. Especially if it's used a lot. Happened to me. Anyways moral of the story is your tastes will change a lot for a long time (if not forever) so don't stock too heavily on any particular snus. YMMV.

Of coarse this is harder to do now post PACT wanting to place larger orders. And of coarse you could off load stuff on the exchange thread if it ever happens to you.

Onyx to me anyway, has more of a citrus taste than N&J - but I love them both equally - usually I have only one or the other once a day - either after lunch or after dinner...

I tend to disagree with this as i think the tastes are world's apart, Although I am talking about Nick and Johnny Stong Op, I have never tried the Nick and Johnny black, But have tried the White and is nowhere close to Onyx...

Try jakkobsons wintergreen. It's wayyyy better than general wintergreen.
