    another newb

    Hello all!

    I just joined the forum after spending over 6 hours reading. I never tried snus although i got a free one from Camel when it first came out (gave it away!) I'm a smoker 1-1.5 PAD (menthol lights) and to be honest wasn't really thinking about quitting but looking around for alternatives that can get me through 18+ hour flight this holiday season. But if it's "yummy"? it would be great to cut down/quit .. just want to give it a shot.

    I'm going to order a couple different ones to test them out. After searching online and the forum here I came across a company with different names. They are located pretty to close to me which is great, I'm in PA. It's just odd that they are using 3+ sites selling this.

    Which vendor can you recommend? I don't mind waiting if it ships from abroad.
    Would US customs confiscate them tho? I'm surprise that it can be order online. I thought PACT stop postoffice from delivering tobacco goods?!

    I plan on ordering portions reg, berry, mint, extra strong. General, Göteborgs, Catch, Thunder but I can't find Skruf (cranberry sounds yummy).

    Hey welcome!

    Don't forget to order Ettan too... the orginal portions and los.

    General and Thunder are great too in their vast majority. Never liked Catch and I'm not much after the flavor snus either.

    Give a try you never know when you can quit your 1 - 2 packs a day cigarette addiction, maybe pretty soon.

        Welcome KissMint. I travel a lot and on my 6 hr flights I usually make it easily with 2 portions. It's also great for the non-smoking hotels, rental cars, and customer site. A long portion like 01, 02, or General Long is great when around customers or at work as it's hardly noticeable. Learn to place the portion with your tongue and it looks like you are popping a piece of gum (I recommend keeping gum with you too as I have had a few people say, "Hey, mind if I have a piece too?" and I pop it out and give them one).

          Welcome to the forum KM!! Glad you found us.

          Snus works great on flights and etc just like colder said. One thing, I would be sure to keep some bottled water with you when you first start out. snus juice is meant to be swallowed but if you are not used to it it can take a little acclimation. The water will help just do you best to keep the water away from the portion when you drink (more moisture means more juice and in turn that makes the portion run out faster).

          Buy snus and Northerner are both top notch. I would recommend getting a sample box at first. I would also recommend getting mostly whites at first (whites are easier to manage).

          Also don't throw anything away and don't buy anything in bulk for the first several months................your taste will change. If you don't like something put it in the freezer and revisit it in a few months. For now try what's out there.

          There is a lot of great information on the forum and a lot of great folks here that will be more than happy to answer questions and help in anyway they can

          Keep us posted.

            The postoffice can no longer deliver Tobacco products due to Pact true, But It is now shipped Via UPS and requires an Adult signature. Since you live in PA. The company you refer to is Northerner, Which also has sister sites of GetSnus and Snus.com. Northerner is the main online store and would order from them. Since pact Northerner can only sell certain brands and all are not available to us in the U.S. You may want to look at SnusCentral and BuySnus for your order as they have Skruf and other that Northerner can't sell. Put in mock orders on each site to see who gives you the best price. If you go through SnusCentral as a first time customer you get 10% off your 1st order. They ship UPS DDP and will not be a problem with US customs. I have ordered from them several times without a problem and they have the freshest snus and the best variety along with the best prices per can.

            Like Precious mentiond, I would recommend you order the Ettan portions as they are a classic and very good, There are very few who don't like Ettan. the ones you plan on ordering looks like a fine order. I would also think about General Onyx, General Extra Sterk, And Nick & Johnny as those are good ones and popular. Just order what sounds good to you and have fun tryng them all out...

                I'd recommend seeing if there is a local shop that sells General, or V2 items, and get some there. That way you won't have to pay shipping, or buy a bunch blind and maybe hate it.

                  Yeah, buying online can be quite expensive for everyone comparing to the prices the snus comes in shops.

                  If you're in Europe you end up paying 3 times the price per can.

                    Not true for everyone. For me it's much cheaper (even with our ridiculous taxes) to buy online, shops are 9 bucks a can.
