    Changed name, still worried

    Hey all- i had to change my username for privacy reasons (please dont post the old one, as it would result in another problem, i would post it too but that would defeat the purpose!)

    Im pretty concerned:

    I have been using snus almost everyday (aside from weekends) for about two weekends. I still have 1-2 cigs a day. This is very concerning:

    I dont feel like myself until ive smoked a cig, no matter how many times ive snus'd (been using an original white)

    I use high level math at work, and my memory/ concentration is even worse after snusing that it would be had I just smoked half of a cig. or no cigs at all!

    I dont feel withdrawl symptoms like anger, anxiety, sweat, but i dont feel good after putting in a snus. I dont feel like i can work. I feel tired, sleepy, no memory/concentration, and very introverted (relative to normal, which is not introverted)

    im sure theres something going on here, i dont know what it is, but i am very discouraged!!

    Just so everyone is familiar with my situation, i started smoking in college, just graduated a few months ago, (so its been roughly 4 years) and on average used 4 cigs a day. (Not a big deal, but i would like to cut it out and just concentrate on work)

    Oh, and i think i may be slightly add (never noticed when smoking though....................???)

    Wow that's some crazy shit that i've never really heard reported before. But I found your problem. You need to be using an extra sterk like thunder frosted or just anything ES. The high nicotine in those helps mimic the effects of a cig a lot better than a general white portion.

    The problem is that with the general white portion, you are getting just a taste of nicotine, but not enough to satisfy your body, so it throws a fit. Like if I were an alcoholic and was only allowed 1/2 a beer, it creates a psychological and sometimes physical annoyance which is manifesting itself as the problems you listed above.


    Do you have any extra sterks? Pop on or two of those suckers in, most smokers require the extra nicotine at the beginning.

      I believe that the compounds in the cigs are all water soluble too...that means after about 72 hours of cig abstinence it's mostly mental. How long have you gone w/o a single puff of a cigarette? What kind of cigs too...just curious there.

        You don't really get the 'spike' with snus like you get with a smoke, and overall, you may not be getting enough nic from the white portions. Personally, when I'm jonesin for a smoke, I'll use two extra stark portions or a big ball of extra stark los- that'll get the room spinnin and kill that craving (for me anyway).

        On the flip side, there's no hard and fast rule about going exclusively smokeless- have a cig when you want one (as you've been doing)- since you were only using about a quarter pack a day pre-snus, you can probably stretch out a pack to two weeks or so then adjust as needed in the future.

          Right, a quarter pack (Camel lights or ultralights!) ... I used to wait a little while before having one too in the morning. Now when i put in a snus i feel stoned, or buzzed. It would be great to go to sleep with i guess (im normally an intensed stressed person) but i really cant remember shit right now, my concentration and energy blows. I ordered some mini ES . But i was such a light smoker, how could 2 portions within 5 hours of waking up make me feel worse????? No clue here!

            +1 And I agree here, I think this is spot on and I will also post what I told you in another thread you had before with the same problem...

            You need to stop trying to force youself to quit smoking as you are only going to make it worse because you feel like your depriving yourself... relax.. If you want a smoke... smoke one, eventually the snus will take over and you will find over time that you will want a snus more than a cigg. There is no time frame with this. Everyone is different, Some can quit smokes in a few days, while others could take months... Stop thinking about it so much and just let it happen.. Don't worry too much about your nicotine intake as snus is delivered in a more steady release in your system than A cigarette.. I went from wanting a smoke after a snus to wanting a snus after a smoke and then preferring a snus to smoking at all... Just Relax and stop worring about it.. And yes you will be just as happy as you were when smoking. You need to stop smoking with snus before you can quit nicotine.. Again stop forcing the issue and fighting with yourself.. Just let it happen and take your time, Putting no pressure on trying to quit smoking is the key..

              Your answer is above in bold... 2 portions in 5 hours is not enough nicotine.. You need at the very least a portion per hour in order to curb your cig cravings.. Light smoker/heavy smoker does not matter nor apply with replacing it with snus.. You are addicted to nicotine period...

                Normally i would wake up, and within 7 hours at most i would have 2 cigarettes. 2 portions of 8mg pouches arent enough to curb that? its not even the curbing...with nic gum or something it takes the edge off but i still feel like a functioning person, with snus ive just felt stoned and quiet.

                  Contrary to what others have posted, I believe you are getting too much nic compared to your smoking habit. I mean 5 ultra light cigs in a day is like 5mg of nicotine. Snus maybe to much for you. maybe try some minis.....

                    I thought it was too much at one point also.. ive tried using just one before, and it had the same affect....the cig just does so much more.

                    I hate the action of smoking (when you go this little, the smell and everything isnt a pleasure to deal with)

                    I dis like the throat problem, the action, etc etc

                    What i do like is the clear headed happy normal feeling i get that apparently should be substituted by snus?

                      Even one regular portion has more nicotine than 5 ultra light cigs....... I'm telling you get some granit minis and call me in the morning.....

                        Normally, if you were smoking just 4 cigs a day you shouldn't experience any kind of symptoms at all if you use snus...

                        4 cigarettes is almost nothing...

                          Yeah, I'm with Blue on this one. You're getting too much nicotine from snus.

                          If you're only smoking 5 a day, then just stop.

                          The concentration problems are most likely all in your head, because at only 5 cigs a day, I'd say you aren't even addicted.

                            so ive also tried using a general for 30 min instead of an hour..........same head feeling, with withdrawl symptoms....

                            the thing is, i could throw one of these in for an hour, 3 for 3 hours, and it wont be 100 % until i have 10 drags of a cig`

                              ive tried quitting straight up...after a week of symptoms (anger, anxiety etc)....i got depressed bad (maybe that was the end of it, but it was BAD)

                              Am i even beneffiting from the concentration portion of niccotine from the 5 cigs a day? ive had it in my head that im self medicating and the smoking helps (and i think it does, i cdont need aderall or anything while smoking),.........
