New to the site

Been lurking for awhile and thought I would jump in....

I started "snusing" over a year ago. My entry into snus was Camel Frost. I enjoyed it quite a bit for awhile but then started wanting more nic and a better taste. I have used this site quite a bit to get me going on the swedish snus. After the 1st week of transitioning, I am hooked on the real deal snus. My favorite is the General Onyx and the Catch Pure Mint when I want a change of pace. I also enjoyed the 02 from my last order as well.

Based on liking Onyx, can anyone recommend some other brands to try?

Sounds like you'd be a prime candidate for the General Original Sterk Long @ 14mg/portion,
a great anytime snus, as is the Thunder Original Mini+ @ 8mg.

The Thunder Original Extra Stark @ 16mg/portion might also be a good choice. On the
flavored side, there's Thunder Berry Blend Extra Strong, also @ 16mg.

Just don't be afraid to experiment.

I like Onyx but it's an ocassional snus only .... that means you enjoy the lemony taste and more salt in your snus .... pretty much all the General snus is the same ... except the loose versions that have a more tobacco like taste.

I'd give Nick and Johnny a try.....it is in the same basic flavor family as Onyx and a little less pricey (if I remember correctly)

I also would give Skruf Stark a try........not an exact match with Onyx but a really good snus


At some point work in some Ettan and Tre Ankare (both have a nice tobacco flavor).

Anyway..............hope this helps....................keep us posted on how it is going

Looks like you have some good choices with General Onyx and the Catch Pure Mint, I use Onyx at least once a day, But for me it's not an all day snus.. This one can and does have a habit of turning on you and is why I only use it once a day..

I will Echo what snusdog said... Give Nick and Johnny a try as this is a good one and also in my rotation of daily snus along with Ettan. Ettan is a Classic and a must try and very good..

No matter what have fun... enjoy and keep us posted..

I would recommend Nick & Johnny as well.

With shipping prices the way they are, I pretty much only buy General at my local cigar shop.

If you like General Onyx, Grov Black would be a good choice.

If you haven't been snusing a long time just be careful that you don't go overboard and order too much Onyx. A lot of people like it when they first start using it and then it turns on them. It is a good occasional snus.

A few days late but I'll chime in....

Like my esteemed colleagues said above - Nick and Johnny is a pretty close match, though kind of pointless if you already love Onyx. If you like that, you'll pretty much like anything in the General Family, except maybe Wintergreen, as it takes a certain individual to enjoy that stuff. I like it, but many others don't.(mention the word "wintergreen" around Lazer once.... lol!)

Thanks for the kind welcomes. I see what you mean, Justin, on the Onyx turning on me. I still like it but I definitely need to back off of it for a bit and then just use it occasionally.
