...another n00b. I'm a long time moderate pipe smoker and got into snus through the back door when I had a rent-a-car for a week and could not smoke my pipe on the way home. Tried some Skoal portions and couldn't stand 'em. Went to a local tobacconist and asked him for every kind he had, left with five cans of General. Then placed a mail order for a bunch of assortments at getsnus.com and am slowly working my way through them. I find it's great for staying awake when I need to and it helps me to concentrate at work.

Anyone else here with a similar history?

Was it Skoal snus you tried or just regular dip portions? Lots of ex-dippers and smokers here and a hefty percentage of them came in what could be called the "front door". That is they tried either Camel or Marlboro snus, found them greatly lacking, went looking on the web, and fetched up here where the glories of the real Swedish deal are revealed.

nate, Welcome to suson.. Yeah, snus is a great alternative to smoking and helps me with concentration. I went to the movies the other day and I was able to concentrate more on the movie with a snus in and it's great not to have to rush out and have to have a smoke after 2 hours...
