Hey everyone I am new to the Snuson community and just wanted to say hey.
Although Im new to the forum I now can say that I have been a snuser for 6 months (if camel actually counts) just recently within the last month Ive discovered the world of Swedish snus and currently have just about a can of each variety in my fridge. Ive enjoyed trying them all and havent found many that I really dont like, with the exception of general wintergreen... YUTUGH! haha Anyways in the last month Ive gotten over ten people interested in the Swedish stuff. Its amazing what happens when you leave a can on the bar and the grizzly wintergreen guy next to me sees it and ask WTF is that! although sharing to get people interested is starting to get annoying... has anyone else experienced this kind of interest from other people in social situations? dont get me wrong being the somewhat narcisistic a$$hole that I am I love the attention, Im just used to having to do more than have a "pretty" tin on the bar to get attention from total strangers. Im also interested in finding out what everyone elses favorite(s) snus is. So lemme know!

It's good that you got people into Snus.

Here in Europe, it's very hard to get people to try Snus. I guess it's because smokeless tobacco has such a bad rep and people probably still believe the myth about how it's as bad as smoking. I've quit smoking over a yeat ago with Snus yet even my co-workers who want to quit but can't aren't willing to try Snus. Meh, their loss.

I dig on Grov...especially on my salad. Now really, but I do eat the bits that stray from the pris from time to time. Not much success here getting people to try snus. I have a couple of friends that do and I give a can to a buddy each time I see him but it isn't even once/ month. Most people I know think it's much worse than smoking. Heh...I'll visit them when they get sick.

I agree with this 100%, my mother-in-law is a smoker and has been for the past 20 years, I have offered her snus to help quit but she just doesn't want to try it, and gives me no explenation why(Well apart from the "Why switch one addiction to another?")

Here in the UK, or London at least, there's a definite awareness of snus, even though you can't buy it here. Several times people have asked me "Oh, is that snus?" or say they know someone who uses it.

My favourites are General Long and 01/02. I like long portions, basically.

I live in Norway, so everyone knows what it is. Like in Sweden, you can buy it in every store, gas station etc.

My favourites are the General løs and Nick & Johnny. Jakobssons Wintergreen is also a very good snus, but it's a taste you'll get fed up with after a while.

Before Christmas I was out for drinks with some old friends, one of whom is a Swede. I got my can out and offered him a portion, he took one without batting an eyelid. A few moments later he looked at me funny and went "Huh?"

I guess it just goes to show how normal snus use is to the Swedes!

Hanske - is your avatar a Urge soda logo? I believe Coca-Cola sold that soft drink in the US in the late 90's under the name Surge. It is now discontinued here, but my understanding is that it is still available in many Scandinavian countries.

Well, many Scandinavian countries isn't a correct term, as Scandinavia consist of three countries Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Urge is a Norwegian soda, but you are right, it was sold in America as well. When it was withdrawn from the US market, they did the same in Denmark and Sweden. In its home country however, it's still remaining. I believe it is reintroduced in Denmark as well.
