    New ex-lurker

I've been snusing since March 2010 courtesy of Camel. Since it was/is crap I took to the series of tubes and found true Swedish snus, Was able to get in a few pre-PACT orders. Wish I'd ordered more but in a way glad I didn't as the first thing I learned was how quickly a newbie's tastes can change. Still finding my way through what is available and trying as many new-to-me snuses as I can.

Don't feel experienced enough yet to give any kind of reviews plus 45 years of smoking (pipes and cigs) just may have put my taste buds on hold. Some tastes I get but some are missed. However I will say that those on the fence about purchasing an icetool should really give it serious consideration. Used a prismaster for months (which does work) but an icetool is a thing of beauty and really opens up the world of los to us handbaking-challenged folks.

          Hi and welcome.

I have a prismaster from my first order. I haven't figured out yet what's the diference between that and a icetool, besides the price of course. Is it only because of the looks?

Ice Tools come in different sizes and allow you to customize the size of your pris. The pris formed by an Ice Tool is also round and in my opinion, much more comfortable. The prismaster tends to make a larger pillow shaped pris. You can take a primaster apart and get a smaller pris by reversing the piece in the center. I personally like the "ghetto tool". Just take a 3ml syringe and cut the end off where the needle is usually placed. You can use the plunger to pack your pris harder. A harder pris will last longer but release flavor more slowly. A softer pris will give you nicotine and flavor more quickly.

              Thanks GoVegan.

I suppose with some practice you wont need both.

Maybe it's like hand role cigarettes. The first times you'll need those rolling machines but with practice you don't need anything like that. I'm talking about my experience.

Actually, it's just preference. Some like to handbake, some like prismaster, some like Ice Tools (or ghetto tools) and some, like snusify, just grab half the can with their bare hand and put it in their upper lip. I much prefer the ghetto tool over handbaking. My suggestion is to try all of them. If you like the ghetto tool the best and have a bit of extra cash around, the Ice Tool would make a nice upgrade.

Thanks to all for the welcome!

GoVegan has been absolutely correct in all he has said. I don't have any experience with a ghetto tool, didn't want to get the "'eye" at Walgreens asking to buy a syringe. The icetool is far more precise in measuring the snus and it injects it more quickly and smoothly under the lip than a prismaster. One's thumb motion is different when using an icetool and I find it to be easier than the pm. It is a shame that it is priced that much but if you can get one sometime I'll bet you will like it. Check out the icetool testimonial thread.
