Which was the first snus you tasted?

My first experience with snus was in Sweden. Before a soccer game me and some other geazers hooked up with the locals at their boozer. One let his snus can go around (I don´t no the brand) and I just starred at it, had never seen snus before! Someone baked me a prilla and I tried it but sad there and spat it out while the locals were having a good laugh.

Last summer at a party, there was some swedish girls and one of them was using portion snus. ( not sure which brand) She told me how it was much better than smoking and tasted good. During the night I had a couple of portions and really enjoyed them and noticed that I didn´t have craving for a cigarette up to an hour after the snus. Normally I would chain smoke at a party.

Later I surfed the net, read a bit and wanted to give it a shot. Ordered a mixed roll of portions and a roll of Kronan OP (Had know idea what it tasted like, I just thought it sounded very swedish )

So I count Kronan OP as my first snus!

My first snus was an (American) Marlboro Rich. It tasted like a mouth full of syrup. Ugh!

My first real snus was one or the other General, either White, Mint, or Wintergreen. Much better.

I had to go back to check my invoices.

My first introduction was the Discreet line (RIP) that I got from a
NY Indian purveyor of fine tobaccos... Discreet Strawberry Portion
was the first one I tried. They even stocked the Camel Snus but I
just couldn't bring myself to even try it!!

General Dry Mini Mint Portion was the first Swedish snus I ordered
(came with a Hat and Mug).

I'm now up to the high potency sterks and on a roll.

Nick & Johnny Strong was my first snus and still in rotation, Haven't had it in awhile.... Have some in the freezer.

My first one was General OP. I went with that one 'cos it was reportedly the most popular in Sweden. I think my second was Ettan OP. I don't often buy General anymore, four years into it.

One of the Camels. I think it was Frost. I soon after tried the Spice, and Original. My first real snus was Metropol licorice, and 23 others I got from a Northerner try out box, but I don't remember the order.

My first was Camel Frost, soon after they came out, I think. Now the first Swedish snus I'm not really sure, but it might have been General Mini Mint, because the old Getsnus would offer a free first can, and I sent for that. Then I recall I bought a box of various snus from someone on the exchange, it was a while back I can't remember who it was from, I remember the box was busted and I thought some were missing, but after a more thorough count, none were, but I can't remember all that was in it, Hot Honey, Julessnus, GrandPrix Wintergreen, hmmm... that was a while back. Snus then, and nasal snuff then, had an exotic mystique about it, as it was a new thing totally to me. The exotic mystique has passed sadly, I liked the early vibe of finding this new thing.

I agree about this. It used to be so cheap, cheap shipping, it was so fun to buy and try new things because it didn't cost an arm and a leg. It makes me sad that people coming in now won't get to enjoy it like so many did before when it was cheap and easy to get snus before the

I discovered snus via another message board I post on, sometime in 2006. I was a smoker and occasional dipper at the time, and ordering a handful of tins was still cheap back then (!), so I got a small grab bag to try out from Northerner.com. I tried General OP, Skruf OP, and Gotesborg Rape. None of them really sat very well with me at first, especially considering I was used to American chewing tobacco. However, by the time I was finished with the General OP, it had become a satisfying taste. I didn't place another order for about four years; this time, I became a regular snus taker to quit smoking -- it worked! Quit "cold turkey" in July 2010 and haven't smoked since.

First Real Swedish Snus I tried was General Mint (That order included General Mint, Mini Mint, Odens Kanel ES, Thunder Frosted ES, Catch Eucalyptus... I think thats it. As you can see I wanted flavor then lol.)
