Hey all:
New here. I am a long-time copenhagen user but am trying to switch to snus. I am a surgery resident and am in the OR a lot, during which time I can't dip so I chew nicorette...lots of it. I would like to try snus so that I can reduce my copenhagen/nicorette habit to just one product....snus. Anyway, I would like to know everyone's opinion on what is the product with the best flavor/most discreet/good nicotine content/least runny for those cases that last 2+ hours. I have tried N&J strong white (fave so far), General WP, General ES portion, Gote Rape. Have Grov OP, Ettan OP, Thunder Frosted portions, Offroad Licorice WP, Thunder Coola, Roda Lacket portions on order. Any thoughts on everyone's favorite white portions/mini portions etc... would be appreciated. Thanks everyone, keep up the good work with this forum. I am open to all flavors/thoughts.

Welcome to the site, and Swedish snus ;-) I'm thinking you'll love the Grov OP, and love the Grov los more than that. What did you think of the Gen. Ekstra Sterk, it's one of my favorites and has quite a nic hit. Also, Thunder Original portion and los are good. Coming from Cope....I'd think you would want to try los straight away. Gives a similar mouthfeel to dip...but different, lol. Good luck, and keep us posted on what you like about the ones you've got on order, and we'll be able to make a few more suggestions based on what you like or dislike.

Man your going to be so relieved when you get your snus. You can pop a nice portion in and no one will even know if you don't want them to. I never smoked but was a big dipper and cope fan and snus satisfies me MORE believe it or not, (you'll learn how much of a holy grail snus really is if you get into it more).

I would recommend Thunder Frosted Portions. It's the strongest shit so it will match the feeling of cope the best and the flavor is great in my opinion.

Hard to point out a clear winner, but in the discretion category I would choose either 01 or 02 long portions. I prefer them over General long the first can of GL I recieved seemed to be too moist and had an unsettling texture. But yeah, 01, 02 for discretion. I'm not sure what you mean by taste (if you mean flavoured or real tobak) so I wont judge on that however, General Onyx does have quite a unique tobacco flavour and Roda Lacket white , it tastes so different, but you should like it. I bought RoLa not long after I started snus and it felt/tasted so strange, pleasant, but strange. If any one would like to attach a dirty simile to that comment you're welcome to.

Thunder original minis. The only mini that ii buy....and if you double barrel it you can mimic a single extra sterk. They usually come drier than the regular thunders so there is a lot less drip.

Grov tastes very similar to Copenhagen. If you want to be discreet, I would recommend either Grov Original or Grov White.

The Northerner purified portions are perfect for work. At 6mg it's not a huge nicotine hit, but they are very small and discreet. I use them all day long at work and nobody suspects a thing.

considering you dip cope and chew nicorette you probably need something strong. you said you like the N&J Strong White portions, so i think General Sterk and General Onyx would also be up your alley. They are both white portions with the same nicotine as N&J

Runny? You're in for a very pleasant surprise with snus.

I recommend white portions as least drip imo... and i recommend a stark (strong) white portion (like Nick and Johnny Stark or Skruf Stark) is best for most of the time... but when you want to be more discrete i would go with a longer thinner size portion like General Smooth which is quite a stark/strong snus for its size at around 8mg i think.

Catch Pure Mint is slim and discreet as well. I just started these this week and they are perfect for work.

Appreciate everyone's input. I'm enjoying this forum, but I gotta tell ya....I'm missing my copenhagen. I'm gonna give this a valiant effort and try many different snus but I'm jones'n for some cope. It's pretty fun trying these different kinds of snus, though, I must admit. I'll crack open the General ES tomorrow morining while I'm waiting for my next shipment to arrive, on back order because of the coola and offroad licorice WP.

There really isn't a direct replacement for dip with snus...and the jonesing you are having is for the chemical stew that is in dip. The clean feeling of using snus is what really gets me. If I take a dip now after snusing solid for about a year and a half I get all dizzy and lightheaded. I know it is not from too much nicotine...it happens if I take a tiny pinch.

After a while if you stick with it you may come to enjoy snus more....but there is a bit of willpower it takes to get off and stay off of dip. Not quite the same as quitting smoking with snus...which most here did. I stopped smoking with dip and stopped using dip with snus.

But for me, snus is the best tobacco product I have ever used.
