Thanks for your reply, but personally i don't buy into the whole e-cig thing, im not that desperate in need to quit smoking, health wise (touch wood) But it is essentially the same effect/cost (less harmful ofcourse)as real cigg's if not more, and involve the same 'smoking ritual' habit so i see no benefit in using one at this stage.

That is true. I also had illness as an impetus to quit but it was still a long-time habit to break. Thought life would be miserable without my pipe but snus is just such a far better nicotine delivery system. Those pipes and several pounds of tobacco are in the garage and within easy reach but I have snus by my side so I don't even think about my pipes anymore. They are not even a temptation. It did take me about a year to get to this spot (smoke-free for 10 weeks as of today) but it's far more pleasant than I ever envisioned while smoking.

So true, will have to cut down on the drink as that accelerates my smoking by over 9000..

Thanks. Point is, if I can do it most anyone can. I actually have little to no will power when it comes to Lady Nicotine but I don't lose any sleep over it.

Well that makes me a slave to habit then, as i have tried the gum/patches and they don't seem to do shit.

Nicotine is probably least of my problems. Stupid brain.

If you want to quit smoking (you should), then just have some will power and don't smoke. If you use snus exclusively for a month, you will feel your throat getting better, your cilium growing back, getting more energy, not cough et cetera. Then it will be much harder to take that step and smoke that cigarette (and make all the bad symptoms come back). Just stay on course and see what happens. You will not have any withdrawal symptoms to talk about since you will get a lot of nicotine from snus instead.

What makes smoking enjoyable IS the nicotine. The taste is one aspect of it but the reason you appreciate it as much as you do is because of the nicotine. Without it, you would just feel a harsh burn in your lungs with no rewarded feelings what so ever. I say, use snus for some weeks and see how you feel by then.

Can't agree with that. i passed the "harsh/burn" stage when i was 14~15 am now 25 and enjoy the taste of burning quality tobacco, do not know of this burning lung you be talking about.

If i felt a "harsh Burn" or being uncomfortable in any way i may have given up many moons ago.

                Thats not the case.

If you're not snussing Extreme you're doing it wrong.

Sorry, I can't resist a bad joke. Seriously though, get the strongest snus you can lay your hands on.
                  Odens ES comes as 17mg.

...........I mentioned Odens 17mg because I thought Extreme might make your face cave in - but I forgot Extreme is actually quite a steady nicotine delivery. BUT - it depends what you can get your hands on at the end of the day. And I suppose if you're in NZ you'll have a 6 month delivery time.

My experience was this. When I first started snusing I smoked as well. Whenever I felt like smoking I did but I continued to use snus. After a bit of time my smoking became less and less and less until eventually I just didn't feel like smoking. It just takes a while, don't stress yourself out about it. You have smoked this long, what is a few more weeks?

Even to date on a very rare occasion I will decide to buy a pack of smokes. I typically only smoke a few then give it to someone, but I don't try to deprive myself if I feel like smoking. Granted that is about a once a year thing.

Edit: Yes I was very excited to see that extreme was back in stock today, hopefully my order ships tomorrow!!

You could be underestimating the strength of your rolling tobacco especially in New Zeland. I would get some thunder frosted and Oden's but also just don't worry use the snus, part of it in most cases is you just have to want to quit which will get easier as time goes on. Congratulations on no duty for the snus.

My personal experience with snus has been that only a small portion of all the different types of snus I have tried quenches my desires. (Which keeps me smoke free) Which definitely seems to put me in the minority..

Out of the US based ones Camel and Skoal are like 80% effective for me. Also the Northerner 3mg purified portions work for me about as well..

The only Swedish snus I have found so far that works well for me (that enabled me to quit smoking and removes 100% of my desire to smoke) was General mint. (The mini's) I was a light cigarette smoker for 20 years.

I have tried many others (dozen or so) that just don't do it for me. I can get to the point of feeling nicotine sick from using the others, just not the same satisfied feeling. I have tried pretty much all makes of the mini's now and several loose also.

I recently gave several brands of snus that I have tried and did not care for to a smoker interested and out of 5 or 6 he had the best experience with the general mint also. (where he actually continued using it and cut down on smoking)

Good luck, hope you find something that works for you.

Rollies pack a lot more nicotine than ultra lights though I don't think he's getting sick from the nicotine, still a couple cans of mint or mini mint won't hurt, I would go with jakobson's mint though it's great. I wouldn't only get extra sterk stuff obviously but it helps.
