Websites asking for last 4 digits of SSN?

Is that safe?
I've been wanting to try snus for the longest time, so I go online and start shopping around today, and every website is asking me for my SSN.

I don't feel comfortable with them having that information. . .

What's everyone else's thoughts?

I don't know of any sites that ask for an SS number. Of course I haven't ordered since the PACT act kicked in so perhaps things have changed. What sites are asking?

It's confirmation of who you say you are. It isn't my favorite practice either, but there isn't anything someone can do with that information. They're missing 5 numbers.

It's just the last four, you'll be fine. However, you do have to be 21 if your in the states.
