    Acid mouth?

    Hi,

I'm new to snus. Love the site. I've been snusing for two weeks. The last two days i have had a really acidic taste in my mouth. I dont really have heart burn. Also, i cant really taste the snus anymore just a slight acidic lemon taste. When i stated i was tasting the smoke flavor coupled with the light citrus. Im using general op and white and jakkobson classic 9/mg version.

Just wondering if this is normal...I really like snus but i want this awful acid feeling in the mouth to stop. It feels like my spit could burn a hole in the wall.

    Thanks!

Odd. I have been snusing a couple months and never noticed this. I gotta ask the obvious question. Are you brushing your teeth and using mouthwash? Do you drink alot of acidic things during the day?

it might be an off batch. I remember back when I started to snus I had all sorts of oddness going on flavorwise in my mouth. If its something that feels or tastes odd, I'd rinse my mouth out and see if that helps. Check out the inside of your mouth too, might have a canker sore or something.

Hi, yes i brush floss twice daily and listerine at night. I do not drink acidic drinks (i just drink water and tea). The first twelve days of snusing i did not have this problem at all.

I dont think its an off batch because i have opened seval diffrent tins. Also, no sores to report. My tounge looks a little whiter.

Stop snussing for a couple days and see if it goes away. Snus shouldnt give you an acidic mouth.

Do you normally use Listerine?? That stuff eats up my mouth!

It feels that way, especially in the beginning when you snus. I can still get an "acidic feeling" (even though I don't think it's acidic due to the snus PH level, which is basic) when my stomach is empty or if I use a very strong snus. I remember having that feeling all the time in the beginning, but it goes away quickly.

Welcome to SnusOn. What kinds of snus are you using? Shouldn't really matter, but I'm just curious.

When I first started I noticed a burning on the sides of my tongue. Still notice it but it is not as bad now.
I attributed it with the nicotine because others who have used nicotine gum had similar experiences.

It's funny you mention that. The burning on on side of tongue has recently started happening to me as well.

Haven't had acid mouth since the nineties, barring any flashbacks I hope it stays that way

Those are citrus-y. Might want to try a Ettan/Grov/Tre type. See if that helps? I know GR gives me heartburn pretty bad.
