    Does my snus lose flavour?

    Hello,

I recently bought one can of Offroad portion at my store. When that was gone in about 4-5 days i now bought a can of general original portion.

I know that a lot of people say that this is the best snus and so on. Ofc i can smell a difference when i smell first an Offroad can and then an General can. But when i put the snus up in my lip, i cant taste no difference. Its like no flavour is coming out of my snus. Had the same problem with Offroad Licorice but i thought it was because it was a ''not so good'' brand. General should be really good. i CAN taste a difference from the two snuses ''juice''.

I have to say that when i got a can of snus from the fridge in the store. It never meets a fridge again until its done(4-5 days)

I forgot, are you a smoker? If so, your tastebuds might be shot. It could take a little while before you can really taste the snus. As long as it's within date, or nearly so, I don't think it's the snus.

Yea, I would say so. I'm guessing the primary flavor you get now is salt; moreso with General than Offroad. After awhile of not smoking, you start to pick up a lot of different flavors you had no idea were even there. Snus is subtle, and complex. More like a fine wine than Cherry KoolAid :^D There's some "flavor explosion" snuses out there aimed primarily at the USA market, but I think they're one dimensional, and though they may give more initial enjoyment, lack the sophistication for lasting appeal. What you see is what you get, and there's nothing more. Traditional snus makes you work a little for the experience, but is more rewarding over the long term.

I noticed the same scenario....it takes a while for your palate it seems to adjust to the snus and each brand/style is unique. The tastes change a slight bit over time for me then find a flavor plateau if you will. This accounts in some ways why some brands seem great at first then lose there luster and others that start out not so hot become favorites.

Renico all this is a very individualized thing. For instance I was a two pack a day smoker and my first portion of General seemed "citrusy" and sour in the extreme. It was just too much at first so I retreated to less intense flavors for a while and then tried General again and found it quite tolerable, good even. Put plainly there are as many different reactions to snus as there are snusers.

If you are still smoking and snusing you will have to try, as others have recommended, stronger portions. Possibly it will take much stronger portions to provide adequate nicotine to kill the cig cravings. That may sound a bit extreme but since just about anything is preferable to smoking from a health perspective using what we call "sterks" may be just the ticket. As far as "real" snus flavor goes the General line embodies the traditional and very popular taste of bergamot, an italian citrus fruit that Scandinavians are apparently wild for, but nowadays the range of snus flavors is very broad indeed and the only way to get a decent sampling is to try as many as you can.

Ordering online is really the only practical way to sample a wide selection, as big a pain as that can be, and rest assured that there are snus flavors and experiences out there with your name on them so hang in there and in time, a few weeks or a couple of months at most, you will be rewarded without question. And oh yeah if you do order resist the temptation to order more than one or two cans of something at one time. Don't assume, at all, that just because a snus is labeled as "mint" or "licorice" or "citrus" or "natural" is there the remotest certainty that you will like it however big a fan you might be of a particular flavor. Buy small, try lots.
