Try a different los. For some reason, General los tears my gums apart after a while but I rarely have that problem with other brands. I find Granit and Pioneer to be very soft on the gums. I haven't tried Prima Fint before but that is also supposed to be quite soft so you might want to give it a shot.

Odens Extreme is the lightest, softest and fluffiest los I have ever had. Seriously. I am sold.

Don't go to v2 for soft. It is smooth.......but can be "hard" and dense.

Goteborg's Rape is pretty darn soft too, probably the softest of the SM stuff (with the possible exception of Prima Fint). I can't use it all the time though...the juniper is just a little off-putting. Rape Los tastes NOTHING like Rape Portions, BTW...

I still think Prima Fint may be the gold standard as far as "mouth-feel" is concerned...one of my favorites, although I kinda overdosed on it about a month ago, and we're now on a mutual hiatus for a bit...

I can say that I am a veteran loose user ... that's mostly what I have been using for one year and a half..

          here's a few userful tips.

          1) always hand bake. the icetool is useful only when you dont want your hands dirty.

          2) dont pack the prilla too tight because it will be annoying on your gums as hell.

          3) SIMPLY take a pinch out of the can by pressing your finger on the edge of the can and shove it deep up your upper lip

          4) never keep the prilla for longer than 40 minutes

I find Ettan Los, when fresh, to be pretty smooth as far as mouth feel.

              Why do you say that?

My guess would be the longer you keep a prilla/portion in the more susceptible you are to gum recession, (if you are one of those folks to be susceptible).

FOr me it is usually average about 15-30 minutes but I have gone longer but usually do rarely.
