Back to snus!

Well, I'm back to snus after a 6-year hiatus. I was never a smoker but got into snus when I was trying to quit dip (Skoal Long Cut and Skoal Vanilla, mmm Skoal Vanilla).

A year or so later I was diagnosed with ADHD and I tried all the pharmaceutical treatments: stimulants (methylphenidate, dexedrine, adderall), non-stimulants (Straterra), and SSRIs (Wellbutrin). Ultimately the side-effects were more than I was comfortable with and the effect was never as pronounced as with nicotine.

So now, I'm back to snus. All of the typical US General varieties are available in a few local tobacco shops here so I started with those. However I'm not a huge fan of bergamot, and the mint gets old real fast.

Eager to get my hands on some straight tobacco snus, I ordered me up some variety! Yesterday I got my SnusCentral shipment:

Lab 01
Ettan Portion
Grov White
Skruf Original White
General Classic
Thunder Mini +
Thunder Frosted Mini +

So far I really like the Ettan. 01 is good too but my mouth tends to get dried out. I prefer the General Classic over the standard General White, since the bergamot is subdued. The Thunder Minis are nice since I no longer feel the nic in the regular General Mint Minis.

Ack! Grov White is waaaaay too salty for my taste. Lab 01 suddenly seems really salty now too. Both make me almost sick to my stomach. I really prefer the Ettan, General Classic Blend, and Thunder Minis. I'm going to put the cans I don't particularly like in the freezer (ziplocked of course) and come back to them at a later date.
