    Newbie - Not Yet Snuser

    Hi,

I've been lurking for a while, finally decided to join the forum. I'm not yet a snuser ( except for a handful of times to try experimentally ), and in fact have never been a smoker or tobacco user. However, I've been thinking for the past year about possibly starting to use snus regularly. Initially, I thought about using snus to help with my ADD. More recently, I've been thinking about also using snus to help with symptoms of a concussion. The few times I've tried it, it does seem to be significantly helpful for both the ADD and the concussion symptoms. However, I hesitate to jump into an addictive nicotine habit due to issues of cost and availability. I live near Vancouver Canada; snus is not available in stores here (as far as I know) and the taxes on tobacco are huge. Eventually, I will have to come to a decision, along the way I imagine I'll have a few questions for the forum. Thanks in advance!

I can't advocate that you develop an addiction but I have quit nicotine for months at a time before but go back to it for its cognitive effects. It's a nice lift, and if you're getting it from snus it's a fairly safe addiction.

Hmmm. Best you don't develop an addiction for fun, but if it helps with ADD and the concussion symptoms, like horus says, "it's a fairly safe addiction".

If you are trying to self-medicate a head trauma..........I think it is high time for a visit to the doctor...........and I go to one until I found one that was willing to help whatever the symptoms are I am trying to relieve.

As far as snus goes…….I would think long and hard about intentionally seeking out an addiction.

Hope this helps…….and regardless what you decide you are always welcome here on the forum
