    My first Swedish Snus experience

I've been snussing with Camel and Skoal for over a year now, and I have been wanting to try Swedish Snus for quite a while.

When I lived in the Pittsburgh area, I just could not find Swedish Snus. I found an empty General refrigerator at a Tobacco shop, and a local convenience chain carries Ettan, but I really wasn't into it. And none of the websites that well swedish Snus can verify my age.

When I moved to eastern North Carolina, I looked at every smoke shop in town and no one even knew what Swedish Snus is ("you mean *snuss*? We have camel and Marlboro").

I jumped on the General website the other day and saw that they had a locator. Low and behold, a Tobacco outlet 1/2 hour away was on the list. I called and they confirmed that they did in fact carry the General!

I drove the 25 miles today and came upon the glorious General refrigerator. They had spots for 5 or 6 flavors, but only had original, white and wintergreen in stock, plus the four-flavor sampler in a cardboard box.

I looked at the dates on the cans, and they all said "Best by 3-19-12" but I bought two wintergreen cans anyway. I also picked up a sampler pack.

I threw in a wintergreen out of a can for the ride home. Nothing special... Reminded me of the Ettan with just a slight wintergreen flavor. So, I thought maybe the "best by" date had something to do with it.

So, I tossed in a mint dry mini out of the sampler....

    Tremendous!

Excellent flavor and fresh, since it was sealed in foil instead of refrigerated in a can. I enjoyed it so much that I didn't want to take it out to eat, but I had to... Lol.

I just put in a wintergreen from the sampler and it is much better than the one from the can, proving that the cans are just too far beyond the "best by" date to be fresh.

I like the dry mini mint the best so far, but I haven't tried the white or mint yet.

I really hope that Snus catches on more in the states soon (for those in the mid-Atlantic region, Sheetz is supposed to carry some at some point, but I have no idea what flavors), but I don't know if it'll happen.

Anyway, happy Snussing and good day!

If you can get some Jakobsons, their mint and wintergreen are the best, and I'm not even into those flavors (more of a regular tobacco or bergamot guy), but every time I order I always throw some Jaks wintergreen in the cart. Oh and general white is solid.

Some of these brands are impossible to buy in most shops here. And I live in Sweden... Some of those are prolly great tried Jakobssons once and (original) Nick and Johnny.

But you should really try the classics first. General, Grovsnus, Ettan, Göteborgs rape and Röda Lacket (the oldest snus still in production). Good luck.

Got my shipment in today (I couldn't get back to sleep this morning, knowing that my Snus was supposed to arrive).

First thing I tried was jackobsens ice fruit. Not my thing at all. Flavor wasn't there and being labeled strong, the tobacco taste was too much for me. Moved on to Olde Viking Spearmint... Same conclusion. I think the strong portions just aren't for me. I smelled the Thunder Berry and it seemed like the others, so I tossed it into the freezer.

So I tried the Northerner Citrus/ Menthol. Taste was good ... Not a strong flavor, but it was there. The only problem is its leaving me feeling like I just did wood work for two hours... Like I have sawdust in my mouth. Is that normal?

The general mint white portion is brilliant. I can do this Snus any time.

I am going to try the offroad coola next and dabble in the rest, but I don't have high hopes.

I guess I'm just a Snus light weight... Lol

Trying different stuff is half the fun. Enjoy.

                Haha, I guess so.

The Offroad Coola is good. Not overly strong. I think I will try some of their other flavors.

Edit:: just tossed in a thunder berry blend portion. Maybe I was just not ready for strong earlier today, because this isnt that bad.
