    Introducing myself

Hi all just wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading the threads here and at Snus Central for a few months now. Never heard of snus until camel (apparently a common story) and I kinda liked the camel but i'm a sugar junkie anyway. I've been using Thunder and Jakobssons for a little bit now, weaning myself off the cigarettes. I had been off for about three weeks when I went out of state for a couple of weeks, couldn't find any retailers and started smoking again (should've just bought some camel but it's not very strong). Anyway I'm back off the smoking now for a few weeks and thought I'd join and participate in the forums that have helped me so much.

Alot of people say it's so easy for them to drop the cigs and jump to snus... for me it was a little difficult... not like stopping altogether, but when i craved my nicotine i'd want a cig for the instant hit... but after a couple of weening weeks I've adjusted to the snus.

It hasn't been very long at all but I feel stronger without the cigs than anytime when I just plain quit. As long as I stay stocked... I think i may finally be off them for good.

      Welcome bro!!!

I think you'll find that for most it was a weaning process.

The conventional wisdom here seems to be........don't stress over it............let the snus do its thing............. and in time the snus will win

I'm alot more relaxed about it this time than I was pre-trip. Not so worried about it. It's strange to read on here though the people that use 4 or 5 portions a day though. I haven't counted but i would venture i'm in the double digits (still way less than cigs though). While i'm working I'm chaining them, every hour or so a new one... less so in the evening.

Flashing back... I guess one thing I never did was chain snus all day long. Used snus about the same way as I smoked.. morning, break, lunch break, break, after work, after dinner, etc.

Man I chain the hell of some snus

I do try to pace myself though............like today..........I intentionally took my snus out at the back of the house.............so I would have to walk all the way to the front of the house to the fridge before putting another in

snus is safe and all..............but a little self-control and disciple is always good............

This is kinda unrelated, but why don't my posts show an avatar/picture like everyone elses'? I uploaded a pic ... must be more to it than that.

Couple of reasons, I think this site has both profile pics and avatars, did you put it in the right area. Also the avatar could have been too big or the wrong graphic format.
