I have been using thunder extreme frosted long + for a few days now and to tell you the truth I am really struggling with it.

    The good
Portion size is perfect and I have not had a single portion break open. with the stronger nik content I am using fewer portions (only 3 instead of 5) and there are more portions in each can 21 vs 15 so each can is going much farther.

    The bad
each portion has a really strong peppermint taste that is really harsh and get's nastier the longer is stays in my mouth.
SALTY gah quite bitter and adds to the nasty mint problem as time goes by.
The smell is also quite bad to me it smells like what you would find near a dead animal in wet black earth. I have been told that my breath smells really bad when I am snusing.

I really wanted to like this but I don't think I will buy this again. I wanted to give this a fair shake so I haven't posted my initial impressions at all and waited till I have gone through a couple can's some 42 portions.
For other folks that are transitioning from camel frost snus I cant recommend it, unless you really really like salty peppermint.
I haven't decided on what my next order will be yet, wintergreen or possibly one of the fruit flavors I dunno, I am hoping I can get used to this uber strong peppermint flavor.
any and all suggestions are appreciated.

That's real snus man! And you no longer have to put 5 in at a time , Right? Try Odens cold for a change of pace, or get off the "Minty" train and go for the tobacco taste of one of the classics. Hey, try this, wet the pouch, then press it hard between a paper towel to remove the intensity of the portion. Good luck with the salt, it is the first thing you have to tolerate, but you will get used to it in no time. Hell, I use 8 different flavors every damn day just to mix things up. There is no "one" snus.

thats great advice. But in my world there is only "one" snus.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Yeah I think you kind of got a bit of some bad advice, stevwp. While Thunder Frosted and all of the different variations are quite popular within the snus world, there are many different kinds of minty snus that may be more your style. Many snus companies use salt in snus. I don't know why, but that is something you just kind of get used to. Honestly, I could not even tell you a different snus without the salt taste because I rarely notice salt taste in snus anymore. Second, many people get a variety of different kinds of snus when they first start because there are snus varieties that simply rub people the wrong way.

I personally don't care for mint snus anymore. I'd rather have tobacco flavors, but I would say Jakobsson's Mint and Thunder's Cool Mint should be more your speed. Just try a variety instead of one specific snus. I would put the Thunder Frosted in the freezer and come back to it later. You may enjoy it once your taste buds get used to salt. Jakobsson's Melon and Gotlands Sommar snus are some really good fruit flavor snus. Skruf Cranberry is good too, but it does have some tobacco flavor in there, so I don't know whether you would appreciate it yet.

I would strongly recommend Odens creamy wintergreen, it is a mild taste, but high nic. Anybody else?

Too bad you cant get Triumph Mint.

Back when it was made it was a really good REAL snus with a nice mint flavor and was more and the slightly sweet side and wasnt salty.

How about Blue Ocean? I know it's not a mint snus but it's got a little tingle, and I didn't pick up salt at all when I tried it. Also, even though it gets no love except from me, Offroad Coola. Still not mint but minimal salt and you're still able to feel it. I know when I started I didn't feel like I was doing it right unless my lip was burning.
