Got my 1st tin of los snus today. General. I like the portions, figured I'd like the los. So far, so good. Really enjoy the taste, although I thought it would be stronger in flavor. I made a "pris" and it turned out decent, I think. It was too big, but I enjoyed it. Removing it was an absolute disaster, as I had snus everywhere and still have little particles in my mouth as I type this. I think this is something I could get into. I'll still use the portions at work/in public, but think I'll use los at home. Is it worth it to buy a icetool/prismaster? Do most portions taste similiar to their los counterparts?
My first los experience...

Yeah Dave, I would say an Icetool is a worthwhile investment. I have three, although my 5ml one does not get much use. Not only do they work well in baking a prilla, they are awesome to use in placing that prilla in the mouth. I only use los occasionally, so my learning curve is a lot slower. I still don't think I could use los very well without the Icetool.
My answer to your 2nd question is kind of. There are some los that taste pretty much like portions. There are also los that don't taste like their counterparts. Roda Lacket is a prime example. I don't really care for the portions, but the los is great. Many los snus are just a stronger taste because there isn't a bag between you and the snus, but again there are exceptions.

Removing it is still like a Woody Allan movie, but well worth it. Can't wait to try some other flavors. I was thinking Roda next.

Welcome to the dark side bro...........wahahhahha
Check out the Dipper's Guide to snus.....it is about all things los and has a lot of great tips from a whole host of people...........for example..........the tighter you pack a pris.........the slower the flavor release will be.....want more flavor.....loosen the pack..........need to keep it in a while and have it still going.........tighten the pack
Anyway......here is the link

I would also like to add that the icetool is well worth it.
I use mine at work or when my hands may be dirty and I cant get somewhere to wash them, such as camping and so on.
Another thing, experiment with los. Keep working on the handbaking, and ill tell you also to try the ol farmers pinch or hillbilly method. Grab a nice pinch, mold it in the can and just throw that sucker in your lip. Top lip that is.
Youd be suprised how well it will hold up and how much flavor you get.
And if you are feeling real frisky, pinch one off in your lower lip like dip and then spit away. It wont hold together as good as dip but itll still work.
Fun part about it is there is no wrong or right way.

I did start with portion snus and after some time I did skip to loose one. I did never use an icetool, but probably because I'm using Skruf Los Sterk & Knox Los (very easy to bake).
I did try some Thunder Los but it turns out this one can't be baked well like Skruf.
Loose snus gives you a strong nic hit IMO. I never had problems in removing Skruf / Knox from my mouth, while Thunder tends to go everywhere.
V2 can't make a decent lose snus

Back when I was fortunate to try some of their trial stuff V2 sent myself and a few others a nice selection of limited run stuff for review.
I forget all the flavors but they were good. I think LX remembers cause it had Tobacco Top, Mandarine, I think Moonshine was in there too, though I may be mistaken.
V2s stuff isnt for everyone but I tend to think they are a great company that makes good snus.
But like most other companies they tend to kill off all the stuff the members here on snuson tend to like lol.
