The only thing better than snus......is more snus

Still going strong on the no smoking, and I don't want to go back ever again. Especially now that I am hacking up all that tar in my lungs.

Just got a fresh order in from Northerner and once again their customer service was fantastic!

Does anyone else put the ones that expire that month out in the fridge, and the rest sorted by month into zip lock baggies in the freezer? Now that I am buying more than 1 month at a time, I figured I should freeze it. I ordered 29 cans of delightful vitamin N packed goodness worth and I don't want it to go dry on me.

I had a few cans go dry on me in the fridge that were sealed just waiting for me. Fridge is kept at 4-6C.

All the cans that went dry were jakobsson's and so far I am not impressed with their flavors even if they stayed fresh. Jak's wintergreen is pretty tasty though, even if its dry. The melon was good at first, but after a few days went stale and horrid even after re-hydration attempts were performed. I will not be ordering any more of their products for quite a while as they are overly sweet, and the flader is good for the first 2 portions, then tastes like dirt and juniper. Nic hit is ok, but after day 2 of being used it seems to quit giving me anything except ass flavored pouches and a profound sense of annoyance.

Looking forward to trying some new stuff.

Are you sure they went dry? Were they past their expiration dates or open? If not, they probably did not go dry. I have forgotten cans unrefrigerated and they were still ok. Jakobssons typically just run a bit drier. To me, all of their portions look and feel like they are in between an original and white portion. The Melon flavor does tend to lose it's oomph after being opened for a few days (although, it is very rare that I have a can open for more). I feel like that would true for a lot of snus anyway. If you haven't tried the Jakobsson's Classic (regular strength), that is really their best to me. It's just their version of the traditional snus flavor without the extra sweetness they added to their Strong portions.

As to your other question, I order snus every month to my already over a month's worth collection. I just freeze it all as is. I have not really had any issues in the 2 yrs or so that I started snusing. Other people do use freezer bags and make a production out of it. That said, I am not freezing long term (1 year or more). I use most of my snus before expiration or soon after. If you are planning on freezing your snus for a long period of time, I would say the freezer bags might be a good idea.

Hi Bill -- I would urge you to try some of the Swedish Match stuff if you have a chance. Ettan tastes like a chocolate without the sweetness and General Extra Strong tastes like well, itself and it's brillant, rich and flavoursome. Those snuses are the true swedish snus flavour and while Jakobsson's has a certain appeal - they wear thin fairly quickly in the taste stakes.

      Cheers

        Squeezy,

So far the Swedish match products seem to be my preference. I love general in op, es, onyx and wintergreen as they seem to be the closest thing to cope for me.

        The88,

As far as I could tell yes they got drier than the other jak's I had. They were sealed and had 1 month to expiry date so still fresh I am assuming. I will try some jak's classic with my next order.

This order of snus expiry dates was inline with my current consumption rates, so all I did was put them in a bag marked with their expiry dates and sorted them that way before freezing. Each month I get to try a few more Snus cans, loose and portion.

Today I opened a Marlboro strong portion(not USA), which is my current can at the moment. I like to have 2 open cans with me for a little variety through out the day. My other can is probe whiskey which is FANTASTIC. It perfectly subs for Cope black which was my all time favorite, but became scarce near me after 08. My other favorite go to dip was Skoal apple, which I no longer care for after switching to Snus. Strange how the taste buds seem to change.

I am trying various brands, flavors etc before settling in and ordering a several rolls of a go to snus. So far I use about 3-4 cans of portion snus per week and about a can of loose at home/night. I really love a good ES before bed as it seems to settle me in nicely. Currently using up a can of oden's extreme and a can of thunder original loose.

The products I have used in quantity (as in more than 1 can) so far are General op, and loose ES, Old Ving, Probe Whiskey, Jak's Mellon, and wintergreen.
