Another new snuser enters the community

I am very impressed with all the content you guys have here on Snuson. I am amazed with the treasure trove of information here. Found you from a Google search. I am a pipe smoker and also just recently tried and do enjoy Camel snus when not able to fire up my pipe - like at work. From what I have been able to find out so far the camel snus is not that good when compared to the real Swedish varieties out there. And it appears from a health standpoint real Swedish snus is the only way to go. For me, snusing has just been with the Camel varieties (like available at all the convenience stores around here). I'm looking forward to learning more about snusing and being a part of your community.

What's up with your name? Do you do radio, or listen to old shows?

It's a long time hobby of mine. -- collecting and listening to the old time radio shows of the 1930's, 40's and 50's. And thank you for the welcome.

Very cool. I have a small collection, mostly from Internet Archive. Big band remotes are my favorite. I have a bunch of spoken word shows and serials, but I need to spend the time listening to them. I have a hard time concentrating on stuff like that because I end up reading stuff on the computer, or wandering away.

Here's a new time radio( :^D ) show you might like...

I've only listened to a couple episodes so far, but it reminds me of the old serials. Kind of cheezy at times, but pretty well done. It's nice to hear people keeping voice acting alive :^)

Welcome to the forum, and remember by law you have three days to change your mind! You starting with Camel snus gives you a pretty wide open discovery process, so I will start your journey with two basic things to remember, I do not know if they are really true, but we have been telling newbies this so long that we honestly can keep a straight face when we say it--

                1. Never smell the snus -

                2. Never throw out a snus you don't like - Your tastes may change (they will but that's a whole nother story)!

Oh, if you meet Parrots, Never smell the snus in the barrel.

If you like Sci-fi here is a show you might like. Dimenion X which ran in 50 & 51. I listened to pretty much the entire series a couple years ago. Kind of neat hearing visions of the future 20 years before you were born, and good stories as well.

Welcome to Snuson, and definitely get yourself so of the real Swedish snus.

Welcome, if you smoke a pipe you will certainly enjoy swedish snus over the american stuff.

oldtymeradioman - We really are glad you are here and the switch to Swedish snus will be rewarding. I am a bit jealous that I never was able to start smoking a pipe. We are here to answer your questions and to guide you through the confusing maze of beginning snus. Please pardon my attempts at humor here, I just really needed to be funny for a bit, that usually happens when I am a bit sad.

lxskllr was a kind guide during my awkward transition to snus and to snuff, it is hard to be new in a new place, I can assure you that he has great wisdom to impart, and far better impulse control.

Hey, thanks for the link to the zombiepodcast ntr. Listening to chapter 1 part 1 "It Begins" as I'm typing this. Seems to be a long but interesting and well produced series. I'm more use to listening to the old half hour and hour shows. My attention span isn't the greatest sometimes. Try keeping the old Superman radioshows done in chapters straight and you'll be doing good. I'm going to PM you some additional info on the topic if it's OK with you. I'm also into silver and golden age comics - digital copies (scans) - I'm way behind on reading those too :-)

Thanks Snusdog. Good idea on the sample box. Need to get some los and make some portions using my coffee filter technique - then compare - snus is fun. Had a Camel Robust earlier this afternoon. Not too bad either. Perked me right up. Take care and good snusing to you.

Good advice here for sure - and if ever tempted I'll try not to get carried away sniffing the barrel. Thans for the welcome whalen.
