New here, and gonna dip in a few minutes!

Hello Folks! I'm new to this forum. Found it on a simple google site for Grizzly Mint Long Cut Reviews, and this site popped up. Figure'd I would join up.
A little back info... I'm 21 years old, Husband, Father of a newborn daughter. I've been a smoker since I was 17, and today I decided to switch to Dip, as it's MUCH cheaper in my area.
A pack of cigs costs about 10.50$ after tax (Marlboro Black) and a can of Grizzly dip is only 5.30$ a tin.

My buddy is coming over and grabbing me a tin of Grizzly Mint long cut. So as soon as he gets here, I'm going to dip.

I hope I can navigate around this forum decently. Given my age... I'm still computer retarded.

Hope to get real comfy here. Any tips on this forum are appreciated, and tell me your favorite dip!

Whew buddy. This is nice. Nice lip burn, nice flavor, pretty mild. Slight buzz creeping up on me... mind you I did a small pinch. Maybe a little less than the size of a quarter.
The buzz is a lot better than a cigarette, it's running through my head pretty decent. I might stick to this now rather than cigarettes. It's cheaper, nicer buzz. The only thing is, is it's very nasty to see the spit in a soda bottle. I might get a mudjug if I keep up with this.

Welcome to the forum, if I were you I would get some swedish snus over dip, i do dip from time to time but only for a change (says the person about to throw a hogleg of skoal in!), snus is much better for you and you don;t need to spit, tastes better too IMO. If you liek grizz mint try and get some General Mint or Jakobsson's Mint, they will see you through and the Jaks will give you a good "buzz"

I second what Skell said...there is a night and day difference between dip and snus. It's like going from a cheap wine to a fine wine.

I agree as well! If I were you I would get some good, strong Swedish snus. For mint flavors you've got Thunder Frosted (which comes in 8 mg, 12 mg, 16 mg, and 22 mg - pick your best option), Thunder Cool Mint/White, Jakobssons Mint (at 14 mg) or Jakobssons Wintergreen (also 14 mg), General Mint (8 mg), and a bunch of others. Get a big pack of different flavors - you don't need to spit with snus, and apparently it's stronger (I've heard) compared to dip. Of course you can dip on the side, like when you are at home, but for when you are out and about - snus is IMO the best way to go.

          Welcome to the forum!

I agree with all that has been said and 4th the recommendation for Snus!

Get some extra sterks and your good! General ES, Thunder, Odens are all great choices, and if you get the portions you don't have any mess or spit bottles to worry about.

+1 on the strength! If you're getting a good Nic hit with Grizzly, the one you will feel with the Extra Sterks will be even better. With Grizzly, you're looking at about 6 to 8 mg of Nicotine per pinch, depending on the size of your pinch. The ES that Byron is suggesting is at 12 mg. per portion for the General ES, 16 mg. per portion with the Thunder and 21 mg. per portion with the Odens ES. Again, as long as you upper lip Swedish snus, no spitting, even with the loose. :-)

Hope this helps and welcome to the forum!

Why does everyone jump on the strong, ES, and super duper ES snus. If you are satisfied with the lesser nicotine hit then all the better. I don't touch anything above standard 8 mg strength and have never felt a need to. I'm not saying some folks don't need it to get off the smokes, but it doesn't appear Darkelf does.

Stay with the more moderate strength snus. General makes a fine mint, and I wish a few other snus makers would get off the arms race and focus on some quality standard strength. More is not better if you don't need it.

Grizzly is one of the strongest dips out there right now and, for a new snuser that likes the Nic hit of Grizzly, 8 mg snus may not be high enough. Of course, it's a case by case basis. I know friends of mine that used Grizzly, gave them General Wintergreen and told me that they didn't get the buzz that Grizzly gave them. Jak's Wintergreen, which is it 14 mg, gave them a good buzz and Thunder Wintergreen they absolutely loved. Again, this is what I've experienced with ex dippers. :-)

Absolutely with you there, 8mg is my staple

If you read DarkElf's post he said he tried Grizzly for the first time and had a small pinch.

Perhaps I'm just getting to be an old ornery coot, but when I started using snus there was very little out there above standard strength and most people got along just fine. This was before the snus nicotine arms race. I'm not saying there is no need for something a bit stronger for some people, but pushing a new user who very likely will do just fine with standard snus onto the strong stuff is not good advice.
