I do get headaches as well when quitting smoking, it's part of the withdrawal, well my headaches are more related to a chronic form of pansinusitis but I do notice an increase in the cranial pressure and pain when quitting smoking. I do have headaches when overdoing snus, so partly it might be from snus as well (maybe too much nicotine).
I've heard many people are allergic to amonia, and as far as I've researched amonia can be quite toxic and exacerbate headaches.
Cheers

Is it common practice to change portions much faster than the US snus users do?
I read about it being common to toss portions after 20 minutes ...in EU.. ,etc

You read so many stories ... like
I kept a portion in for 5 hours one time.
And so on that understanding is a bitch.
I do the same if a extreme gets to me, give it a rest in catch lid 5 min. Try again, then drink allot seems to make the nicotine dissipate....
The after the portion has its 5 min time out....back to use.

After about an hour there is very little nicotine left in a portion. Any extra time with it spent in there is not going to be doing very much other than stop you putting another one in there!Squeezyjohn

Agreed....
I figure 30-40 trash it.
I feel like a cheap bastard,
I'm not, just in my current condition
I need my nicotine and need not waste any.
Thanks guys

I understand tattooer - and I think some of us take them out too early myself included.
But much over an hour - and especially over 2 hours and you're not really gaining anything by keeping it in there unless you want to ... of course!Squeezyjohn

I think Squeezyjohn's right about the 'too much nic' thing. I've ordered a selection of snus to try to find the right balance, and I am quite determined to give snus a proper try – they do get rid of my ciggie craving completely.
I'll switch to lower nic snus and see how that works (and maybe try Frosted's and others' advice to take the snus out more often in the meantime) – if lower nic snus can bring my cravings down to a manageable level there's no need for me to add nic OD symptoms into the mix.
Precious007 – I don't think I'm sensitive or allergic to amonia, but this is handy to know if the headaches persist after I switch to lower nic.
And I completely agree that snus are hugely safer than smoking, I've read many, many physicians' and scientific reports and research studies that show this unequivocally, which is why I want to give them a proper try. (well … that, and they taste delicious!).

That's cool Jane.
One thing to watch with taking them out is to remember that the nic carries on being taken up through your lip for a short while after too. So if you think you're getting too much it's better to take it out earlier rather than later.
I reckon you'll get on well with some 8mg snus - it's a good place to be and there's a bigger selection of flavours.
Cheers
