    Newbie Looking for Help!

Hi I'm new to the snus world. I used to be an electronic cigarette user but that habit cost a lot of money. I'm looking for swedish snus (besides General) to buy here in the USA. I can't justify spending all that money for shipping and not knowing what I'd really like. If anyone can help with places that sell in the USA specifically Northeast Ohio area that would be great. Or if you have some swedish snus lying around you're not using hit me up as well! Thanks!!!

Well as far as getting you snus in the Ohio area i won't be of much help, however I started with general as well and would be glad to recommend some others. General mint and wintergreen portions are both great if you haven't tried those. Thunder frosted loose is good as well if you've stepped up to loose yet. And Odens extreme portions pack a powerful hit and taste great imo, Portion or loose. Ordering any of these online you wont go wrong.

If you're looking for an everyday all-day snus to use, stay away from the entire Oden's Extreme line as well as any of the extra stark (extra strong) varieties of other brands. If you use these all the time, you'll come to be reliant on the extra nicotine these provide and lower-nicotine (regular and/or strong) snus simply won't satisfy any longer. Ideally, you should use the lowest amount of nicotine that makes you comfortable and save the stronger varieties for occasional use.

If you're getting snus shipped to the US, I'd suggest using SnusCentral or BuySnus (both MaKe WeBo AB affiliated) and stay clear from Northerner, which a lot of people seem to be having issues with recently. Shipping is a little high (approx. $30-35 depending how many cans you get), but the shipping price is pretty much the same if you order 1 can vs 30 cans. If you're sure you're going to continue using snus, for around $150 (shipping included in that price), you could get 30 different flavors/brands if you're unsure what you'll like and the price per can will even itself out to $5, which isn't really that bad considering you're probably already getting General in your local stores for around or above that price with questionable freshness. If you do use SnusCentral, make sure you use the promo code that's listed on their site (LV2F8F) which takes 10% off your entire order (that'd take $15 off the hypothetical order above).

      Hope that helps a little.

I agree that using nothing but Strong or extra strong snus will raise your tolerance levels to nicotine. That being said, one can use these extra strong snuses all day, but you just need to space them out a bit more than you would an 8mg snus. Don't worry, you're body will let you know when enough is enough. So, you won't have to avoid the stronger snus lines and can enjoy the great flavors and nicotine hit they provide.

GN...I'm pretty sure he was just referring to how strong Oden's Extreme is, but all in all...it was a pretty informed post for a newbie. I agree. I use Oden's all day long, but I'm a nicotine junkie :-)

Please don't take my comment out of context. I think it is good advice, yes I winced at singling out the extremes, but it is still exactly how I use my snus. An occasional extreme during the day.

GN Tobacco Sweden AB: I have an Oden's Licorice portion in right now, so I'm certainly not anti-GN I'm just hesitant to use high-nicotine products on a daily basis, or recommend that others use them. Considering the OP is a previous e-cig user, his tolerance is likely to be low and an "extreme-strength" product will likely make him ill until he becomes accustomed to the higher levels of nicotine in snus products. Once he can handle them, it's really his choice whether or not to use that much nicotine or not daily. However, once his tolerance builds up to the point where he no longer feels a "buzz," if it's his only snus product around, he may decide to double-barrel them (as many snus users do occasionally). Consider that instead of using two 9 mg portions (which would be 16 mg--still well under 22 mg), he'll be using 44 mg, quite a big leap. That's still well under the amount that'll kill a nicotine-tolerant human, but it's an amount that we've not had time to see how it can affect the body after chronic use. For consideration, take a look at this review that I came across on SnusCentral:
I only order this stuff.. If you havent tried this yet dont. I have built up a tolerance to this and double pouch it with ease multiple times a day. God knows what that level of nicotine does to your body in the long term. I am waiting for an even stronger version of this to come out...........Once you get on this one other snus will not do anything. I can horseshoe Odens extreme without even getting a buzz. If you want to enjoy other snus flavors etc stay away from this.

If you like the buzz, it's best not to chase the dragon and just enjoy lower amounts on a daily basis and save the stronger stuff for when you need it. You probably won't feel much day to day, as most long-term nicotine addicts can attest to, but when you use Oden's Extreme, Thunder, or any extra stark, you'll be able to enjoy what it has to offer.

Overall, I have nothing against GN, or V2, or Skruf, etc, for making high-nicotine products, although I am a little cautious with selling points being things like "the strongest snus ever!" which only tempts another tobacco company to raise their levels even higher, until eventually people start to have heart issues or whatever.

                      Hope that clears things up.

The nic delivery of extreme is very gradual I find, unlike thunder and skruf which hits you very quickly and hard. Considering its strength extreme isn't as hardcore as it sounds or you would think it may be, the nic delivery lasts a fairly long time so you end up using less portions etc per day aand satisfied for longer. e.g. a tin of thunder would last me 5 days or so, a tin of extreme lasts about 10 days, just my two pence worth.

The delivery profile of the extreme snus is unique, slow and steady.

I should have put a disclaimer at the top of my post saying that I've never tried Oden's Extreme or Thunder Ultra Strong/RAW. I treat tobacco a little more as a medicine than I do for recreational purposes, so the names "Extreme" and "RAW" turn me away instantly, not to mention the nicotine content, but if what you say is true (and I have no reason to doubt you, Skell and whalen), then perhaps I'll put a can or two of Oden's Extreme in my next order, because I'd love an "extended-release" form of tobacco.

GN, I'd be interested in what you've done to the snus to give it this characteristic--that is, if you're allowed to tell...

Thanks for the corrections to my incorrect assumption.

Skelly and Whalen convey wise words mate. Slow and steady. I too fear that snus makers will try to "one up" each other in the nicotine dept. I've done my best to let them know that they shouldn't forget about their core users.....that only use 8 mg nic....or have heart problems and simply can't use snus that high in nic. Not too long ago all the new snus that came out was 18 and higher in the nic dept. that was saddening. As a side note, you can probably expect your favorite snus to be discontinued at some point.

I don't know what Dear Mr. GN puts in his snus or how he makes it but I do know he uses a superior tobacco.

The new Ving99 is freaking great and I really appreciate Dear Mr. GN for making it available to us. Coffee snus is all I use....for several years now.

                              Oh and Mr. Troublemaker ,

                              Welcome to the site!!!
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
