A friend has a complete set uppers lowers and doesn't wear them all the time. He's afraid to start sus to quit smoking because it might change the fit. I think he might have tried some snus and after his gums got sore his dentures hurt??? Says hell just use snuff. Not a big deal but does anyone have any experience in breaking into the snus way with dentures? If the gums are involved what happens to the denture fit ? Do the gums shrink where the pouch is kept?

I can't imagine it would be a problem. Most people develop a "snus pocket" but it's high enough up the gums that I don't think there would be an issue. Also, since switching from cigs to dip to snus I've experienced less gum recession and a general increase in oral health...probably not as much as if I abstained from all tobacco but better than it was.Comment
