    Hello Everyone

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has a good recommendation for a mini portion snus with a decent mint flavor. I am weaning myself off of menthol cigarettes and currently use camel frost snus, but the stuff is pretty horrible compared to the can of Oden's I tried. The Oden's was good, but it was regular tobacco and I can't stick with that flavor for long without going back to a cigarette or frost snus. Also, the oden's portions are 15mg portions and I get that chain smoking numbness from using them, so I want to find a good mini.

I'm still very new to snus, especially anything not available in the US. Any recommendations for assorted flavors or specific winter-mint minis would be awesome. Lastly, I need a decent supplier for the states. Thanks for your time and hope you all have a happy new year.

Hi and Welcome. General mints are available all over the U.S., at gas stations, etc. and are much better than American snus-like products, but I don't believe a mini portion is available locally. Generals website has a locator to help find who sells it in your area. Also, check a real tobacco shop and see what snus is available near you.

General mini mints are good. Offroad has minis in different flavours but to me the mint they have gets bitter rather quick. Thunder also has frosted in a mini and many people enjoy it.

As for websites most people order from buysnus or snuscentral, though some people use mysnus which seems to have real good deals.

You may not need a mini, it may just be that the strength is too high for you. Try finding a regular mint portion and seeing if they do the trick, as regular sized portions may be easier for you to find. I know most people have General mint or Wintergreen near them. Never had the mint, the wintergreen flavor was better than most but not my thing. Your mileage may vary.
If discretion is the issue, you are going to find that the suppliers listed by the guys above will have the best selections. You could also try lil brown's smoke shop ( http://lilbrown.com/c-214-moist-snuff-snus.aspx ) for better stateside shipping. I know they have General Mini mint and a few other mint snuses.
Best of luck and welcome to snuson.

The General Mini Mint white are great - They taste nothing like General Mint White, to me they taste better and they have a pretty decent nic hit. If you want more nic try Thunder Frosted Mini they are 1.6mg vs the .4mg of the General Mini Mint.

            Pretty sure it's 8 mg (1.6 x 1/2 g)

Wow guys, thanks for all of the info. I'm going to try some general mint and thunder. Brown's shop has some amazing prices, but sadly they won't ship to GA. However, now that I know what to look for I'm going to try the local tobacco shops.

So about portion sizes, I find that the "small" camel portions are easier for me than the large ones. They are as long as the large portions, but half as wide. Are the mini portions long and slender or are they square and similar in width to the regular portions? The camel "large" pouches irritate my gums above my canines after a day or two so I have to stop, but when I can find the camel smalls there isn't a problem other than the taste...

Thanks again for all of the help.

I use normal size portions, so I can't offer any firsthand experience, but you might want to try slim portions as well as mini. They are regular size and weight (1 gram) but longer and narrower. Those will be easier to find online, although the General Nordic Mint available in some gas stations is more of a slim portion I think.

The salt in most Swedish-style snuses is very high, so it may irritate your gums a little at first, and the mint might do so as well, but you will adjust quickly. I've been snusing on and off for a year and a half, and I don't even notice when I put a portion in my regular spot. If you find mint portions irritate your gums too much, you may want to try a traditional bergamot snus at some point. They are still salty, but have much less lip burn because of their non-mint flavorings.
