    New guy here

Hey guys.. Just switching to snus from e-cigs. I smoked for about 10 or 11 years, did e-cigs for almost 2 years and now im onto snus and ive been using it for the past month. I have had some bouts of using dip too, grizzly wintergreen, straight and natural. I definitely like using snus more than the ecig, that was turning into too much of a hobby which isn't a bad thing, just wasn't for me. Anyway, I may need some help. I started with Camel snus which I don't really mind, I actually think it is pretty good for the most part except sometimes being a little too sweet. I placed an order with Northerner for a few different items listed below,

NORDIC ICE WILD CHERRY - Tolerable, tasted like cough syrup

NORDIC ICE FROSTED MINT - Decent, favorite of the bunch

OFFROAD FROSTED - Did not like at all

TELEMARK XTRA TOBAKK - Pretty bad.

THUNDER FROSTED MINI - These weren't bad

ZYN NT COOL MINT 06 - Horrible

ZYN NT PEPPERMINT 06 - Horrible

So I prefer Camel over any of these brands.. Is there another brand I could try that is better than any of these? I liked the thunder and nordic ice but not enough to buy more of. Just looking for some ideas, and those reviews are all just my personal opinion. Thanks guys!

Welcome! If you're in the US, General Snus is available all over. They have a store locator on their website. Its Swedish, and their mint is much better quality than American brands, if you're into mints. Check a real tobacco shop for other Swedish brands, locally, or look at SnusCentral.com. You'll find what you like best with trying different stuff.

Welcome aboard! Check out this link......these are the standard Swedish Match flavors for U.S. which are available at tobacconists, convenient stores, etc......or available from Northerner obviously.

Just a note...there seems to be a huge difference between american dip wintergreen and swedish snus wintergreen (at least to me) in terms of taste.

If you like grizzly or other brands that were straight or natural you might like the lab series like a can of 02 or 06.
Jakkobsen's or however it is spelled is pretty good in the candy/other flavored department.
Thunder frosted is my favorite (I don't care for the min's they are very dry.)
You could try some oden's portions. Regular oden's extreme portions are liked a lot by natural or straight dip guys and it has a kind of peppery taste to it.

If you're into mint (that's what your selection makes me think ) give a try to Oden's Cold Portion, in my opinion is the best mint flavoured snus.

                      Welcome to the site Justwar!!

                      Make yourself at home.

One thing I would recommend is that you give yourself an adjustment period with Swedish snus. The quality is far superior to that of the American version and the ingredients are held to a higher standard. That said the flavor profile is different. American snus markets a candy sweet product while Swedish Snus seeks a less candy profile. Thus it might take a few days to allow snus to stand on its own terms and merits (i.e. a few days to let your taste adjust).

I would try General Mint and a few of the other types some of our folks have recommended.

Anyway glad to have you with us........keep us posted on what try/like
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

                        Wellcome justwar2010

If you want real freedom and full control I can recommend that you make your own snus. It's not as hard as you may think. Even if you use Smurf diapers . You can buy empty portions to use with your home-made snus. Then you can use any flavor you like and have foll control.

You can learn how to do it on my blog here: http://creatinker.com/swedish-snus/
