Almost a new SNUS trier from UK

    Hi
Ex Smoker of 20 years now a full time vaper, but been interested in snus for a while as a nic source without blowing clouds of vapour.

Picked up a sample of nicoccino to give me an idea if sticking something under my lip would annoy me and I must say it didn't do a bad job.

Ordered some Knox, Skruf and phantom tins under 18mg to give it a try, no idea if these are any good but I guess finding the right flavour, nic etc is going to be a learning curve, much like vaping.

I think as long as you can get your head around the fact that it is not the same kind of hit as smoking at all then you'll enjoy it like we do. Most of us who go from smoking to snus actually increase our overall nicotine consumption but because it is a slower-release of nicotine you don't feel that "bang" hit that you do with the cigs ... instead it's a kind of warm sensation that starts with a tingle in your lip that goes to the rest of your body and head. Be warned - especially with stronger portions - that it's easy to get carried away and not realise that you're actually going a bit too far and end up feeling anxious, twitchy or a bit light headed because of too much nic. Once you have got the hang of it though - it's a breeze.

The thing I love about snus is that it actually allows you to taste really subtle nuances in different tobacco types - and there's also the huge range of different flavours too.

    Good luck with it.

      Welcome on the forum!
I smoked for 25+ years too before my lucky meeting with swedish snus.
It was really the ONLY thing to help me quit with cigs, followed by nasal snuff, e-cig and slow smoke.
The first weeks are strange, you have to adapt yourself to the new nicotine source, and as far as monthes go by you realize two things:
      1. You are not smoking anymore
      2. Tastes change at 360°: food, beverages and even your snus will change; you'll be able to notice little upgrading week by week.
Don't trow away a snus you don't like at the beginning, it's not impossible that it will became one of your favourites later in time!!
Give a chance to the blue pill (cit. The Matrix).
      Welcome again!!

Package finally arrived from snusline 3 days ago so been mostly snusing since then & vapings taken a sideline.

So far I think I'm doing good, apart from gums being a bit tender but I suppose it's just getting used to.

Skruf mint & cranberry were great until they got a bit too juicy when the flavour got a tad too bitter for me.

Phantom & Knox on the other hand I could leave them I'm til they were flavourless.

I would really recommend you have a look at Topsnus.com too ... the only downside is that there is no option to use a card payment - only a bank transfer (which can be done easily with 3rd party site transferwise.com)

They have a great selection and all my orders to the UK have taken 5 days from order to receipt of the snus provided I make the bank transfer promptly.

Welcome to Snuson, taffyjock. Great to have another UK snuser. Oh and Skruf is awesome snus!

I think it's great for snus that vapers are becoming aware of this delivery method.

I'll be ordering from Topsnus next, I did cheap out on my first order & bought only offers which seems to be less fresh, also bought 8mg which while is enough I don't get the strong nicotine hit I'd like, live and learn I guess.

@Reynard couldn't agree more, both are a great, safer and cheaper nicotine delivery system to smoking which compliment rather than compete with each other.

Vaping gives the visual and throat hit experience but requires much higher initial spend and lacks real tobacco taste due to the sweetness.

Snus offers a faster nic hit, real tobacco taste but lacks the visual.

But both have the same goal of safer nicotine delivery.

Unfortunately the amount of misinformation around tobacco and nicotine that lead to Snus being banned outside Sweden, is being used to effectively ban vaping too.

Boils my blood what pharma and gov will do to sustain their tobacco tax and research funding at the expense of people's lives.

I might try Top Snus, having tried the gamut of stores that serve(d) us in the EU. It's a long list, with periods where it thinned out considerably (to the point where we were considering life without snus lol) if you ask any of us Brits on here.

The nic hit with snus is great and it can be a really fun hobby, finding out what flavours you like. Oh and that will change in time too, jock. It's weird that way. I started out simply not able to tolerate tobacco-flavoured snus, but now I mix it up.

                    Happy snusing matey!
                    paul.

+1 on topsnus. Got my delivery of (1) general white. I am now going to make a big order in case I'm dreaming and it all disappears soon. So many setbacks in the EU, but finally some light. It is absolutely insane that snus isn't more readily available as it is the single greatest smoking cessation product I have ever had.

How long does delivery take roughly? Transferred the money late Thursday evening and received the shipment email on Monday morning, would assume the package should be here with me by the end of the week?

Well that's my bank hit by €50, transferwise was painless enough, got an email after offering free transfers and £100 if 3 friends use the service, so that's next orders being send to family members and me scooping £100 of free snus

Sneaky! I wish I'd thought of that taffy. It took about 4 days for shipping for me perkdon.

Once it's sent it normally takes 4 days max to get to the UK.
