    Hey guys

Hey everyone, been reading a while and using General when I can find it. I use tobacco recreationally anywhere from 3 times a week to once a month. There is only one place I'v been able to find snus locally (sort of local....) and it's 40 miles away.
    My few questions are:
    1. Has General Nordic mint (square tin) been completely discontinued? I was NUTS about this stuff, then the next time I went to get some they had none. Of General white, mint, original and wintergreen; wintergreen is the only one I can stand to put in my mouth.......

    2. Are there ANY chews/snuff that have >5 ppm TSNA other than the well known Redman/timberwolf/longhorn? I use tobacco sparingly, I love chew and snuff is ok......so are there any other "semi - safe" chews/snuffs?

    3. I know "the good stuff" will always have a different taste than American tobacco, but what are the closest snus products to ANY American tobacco as far as taste?

    4. I love Hawken chew, and I read on some old snus forums that it was pastuerized. I called American snuff co. (guess that answers in itself) and asked about Hawken and they said it was fire cured just like everything else they carry. So this belongs in part with Q. #2 I suppose.

Thanks all, I know it's a long winded first post!

    Welcome to Snuson.

I think you can still get the oblong cans at tobacco stores, but not at service stations. If the tobacconist doesn't have it in stock they might order it for you.

You can check the General Locator for a store in your area.

Thanks trebli, I didn't know that about service stations. I'll look into that

Most American dip has dropped into a pretty safe TSNA range...... none of them are like they were even a few years back.....most are at or under the Gothiatek standard, which is 10 parts per million
Here is a fairly current article that will give you an idea of the levels LINK

For me the snus brands that come closest to American dip are Grov, General ES, Mustang, Knox, Extreme (all Los) mainly because of the strength of their flavor (vs flavor similarity)

Anyway.....welcome to the forum......let us know what you find available
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I buy Jakobsson's mint and wintergreen snus at a Tinder Box store in Columbus, Ohio. If you have a Tinder Box store near you, you might ask them if they have it or can get it. Good luck!
