    Snus suggestions please.

Okay so I have only been Snusing for a few days and the only brand of Snus I have is Siam Snus from Thailand as it is local and I saw a good review on SnusCENTRAL for the brand.

BUT...Having come from vaping for the last 4 years I am finding the tobacco taste VERY strong if it gets just a touch too wet and so I would love to get some recommendations from more experienced Snusers for regular strength slim, or standard portion Snus where the tobacco taste is a bit on the mild side. I have no idea of a flavour profile either, again because I am so new to Snus. I have been looking through SnusCENTRAL and buysnus but there is such a huge selection of Snus brands I am getting very lost here.

    Any suggestions really appreciated.

You might try the 'white' portions because they don't produce as much saliva. They stay dryer especially if you keep them toward the front of your upper lip. Here is a picture guide:

      @trebil

I had done a bit of research before I bought and I was lucky enough to realize to get white portions. Took quite a bit for me to understand but I got there in the end, lol. I did start with the Snus either side at the front as per the diagram, but unfortunately I got what I think are pressure sores from the snus both sides on the first day, so I have had to move further back than the sores. It is actually drier there for some reason when I know it shouldn't be. No slimy snus at all since I changed.

Thing is I can live with all that until my mouth toughens up a bit, but the tobacco taste is so strong it is grossing me out a bit. That's why I was hoping for some milder tasting snus. I really have no idea how the taste of the Thai snus compares to actual Swedish snus as it is made with all Thai tobacco. I guess there may be some difference, not sure. Having said that the taste isn'e so bad today so I am adjusting already, surprisingly.

I have actually thought of the Epok Snus white tobacco slim portions. A review from Snubie said that they were a milder tobacco taste so I may have to try them out. Maybe the slim portions will help with the sores as well, if I am still having trouble when I manage to get them to Thailand.

Thanks for the advice trebil. It is a big help for a newbie like me to get pointers from an experienced snuser. I will give your tips another go and see how I get on.

snuscentral.com is my go-to online vendor, but on occasion I place orders with http://www.snus24.com/en/ It works out well with snus 24 for a few cans or a single can of certain flavors and is probably the cheapest way to try a variety.......

If you're looking at tobacco flavored snus, these are some of my suggestions:

Grov - more bold tobacco taste. A favorite amongst people who like tobacco flavors. Grov Portion (Original) is good, or Grov White Portion if you don't want it to drip/run as much. The white portion version has a milder tobacco taste.

Ettan - this is a more earthy tobacco taste. It's a touch milder than Grov, IMHO. You can try Ettan Portion (Original) or Ettan White Portion if you don't want as much drip.

Tre Ankare - this one is a mild tobacco taste with a herbal type quality in it. It's one that people don't seem to talk about as much but has a great taste! It only comes in white portion. But Tre Ankare White Portion is definitely a good one!

Odens 69 White Dry Portion has a milder taste of tobacco, but it does have a little citrus mixed in. But, this is one of the most mild snus products I can think of.

Are you just looking for tobacco flavors, or are you considering other flavors as well? As trebli suggested, you may want to stick with white portions if you don't like as much drip. White Dry portions are dryer than white portions, so they're another option to consider!

            Hi General.

I was going to quote your post but I can't post links yet.

I am basically looking for anything with a milder tobacco taste. Flavoured is fine but I have no idea of a flavour profile yet as I am so new to Suns. When vaping I had a preference for fruit and citrus but I really don't thing that will transfer over to snus.

I have spoken to a snuser here who has used Siam Snus as well and he agrees that they are strong on tobacco flavour.

Fruit and citrus is pretty common in the snus world. Citrus, especially, as bergamot is one of the most common snus flavors on the market.

              Fruit Flavored Snus
Änglaholm White Portion - This one has a mild cherry/dried fruit type flavor.
Epok Blueberry Slim - Self explanatory, but it has a blueberry flavor.
Epok Melon Slim - This one has a melon/cantaloupe type flavor.
Göteborgs Rapé White Large Hjortron - This one is flavored with cloudberry - it's a sweet/tart type of fruit taste.
Göteborgs Rapé White Large Lingon - This one is flavored with lingonberry, also sweet/tart.
Jakobsson's Ice-Fruit Snus - Have you ever had Juicy Fruit gum? This one tastes like that. I think I read that it's flavored with "jackfruit", whatever that is.
Jakobsson's Melon Strong Slim Dry White - This one is a dryer white portion with a melon taste.
Kapten White Extra Strong Melon - Another melon option
Odens Extreme Melon - Another melon option
Skruf Slim Fresh Blackberry White - This one is a blend of mint/blackberry. It's an odd tasting one, but you may like it.
Thunder Very Raspy (Extra Strong) - This is a raspberry flavor.

              Citrus Flavored Snus
As far as citrus goes, there are a ton of them out there. Here's a few suggestions you may like.
Odens Lemon White - Not many lemon flavors on the market, but this is a good one
General Portion - General is the classic Swedish Snus, and it has a citrus taste. You may want to try it.
XRANGE General Slim Large Original - This is the same as the one above, but comes in a slim portion and is a little cheaper.
Offroad Original - This one is more "orange"-ish in taste.
Skruf Original White Portion - Skruf is another one of the standards when it comes to the traditional citrus taste. You may like it, it also has rose oil, so it adds a little sweetness.

I know that's a lot of products, but it's always fun to try new stuff. You never know what you'll like!

I've never vaped, so I may be wrong, but the flavored snuses General1866 has listed are much more flavorful than I would guess vape juice would be....just guessing. I would include a couple of the fruit and lemon flavors in a first order and try some plainer traditional Bergamot and tobacco centric snuses as well. I usually have one tin each of Jaks Melon Strong and Jaks Flader a year and that's it for the flavors.....just me maybe.....

Thanks for the advice General and Burnsey. Much appreciated.I'll get to sourcing those for my next order. Takes a few weeks to get here so I have to be well in advance.

As for the flavour in vaping. No real tobacco flavours at all, that are a true taste, but everything else from apple pie to crab CAN be made to almost be the same taste as the real thing. Depends on if the guy mixing it is good and if you really are sure you want to inhale something that tastes like a squid. lol They use food flavourings so it can be pretty close to the real thing. Unfortunately I have had a few problems with vaping develop over the years and as it is now illegal here and it is getting more and more dangerous to vape in public I decided to stop.
