I think my next snus order is going to be all los, I definitely enjoyed the taste of general los the most when I got it. Im also thinking about investing in an icetool, I am just wondering if it is really worth it or if I should just master baking.

I would do both. The Ice Tools are great, will give you consistency and keep your hands clean.

Hand baking is great for when you are out and about and don't have a Tool with you

I definitely think that you should learn using your hands before you start using tools.

New to Snuson. Been lurking for a few weeks. Snuser in Ohio, snusing for about 9 months. Still working on quitting those last 3 or 4 smokes a day. Anyway, the saying is "birds of a feather" - seems to be a ton of great snus discussion going on here, so wanted to take part, learn more. Anyway, as all snusers - been through all the brands - all the flavors - and have honed my buds - primarily a portion and an SM guy; Long Sterk is my favorite, but Ettan, Grov, Ekstra Sterk, Lab01 are also in my rotation. Basics.

Just thought I would drop a newbie post before I chimed in anywhere else or looked to trade, etc. Great forum.

toddzilla - i am in Cincinnati as well. Nice! Good to see a snuser in the same city. There are a few tobacco stores around that sell General - Kings Tobacco in Mason is one of them, haven't confirmed the others such as Strauss, etc.

Hey all! Im a fairly new to snus...well I should say new to REAL snus haha. I started using camel snus about four months ago to help me quit smoking. About three months ago I was in a speedway right near where I live in ohio and I saw they had general snus! So far iv been snusing for three months and haven't even thought about going back to ciggs. So far my main go to snus is general wintergreen but I just ordered jakobsonns wintergreen, jakobsonns icefruit, general onyx, and goteborgs Rape No2 from northener.com. they are supposed to come tomorrow and im pretty excited about trying a few new brands. If anyone has any sugestions on a good snus id love to hear it! I also am wanting to try some los snus and see how that goes!

I need to take a look and see if any around here carry stock. personally, I don't take well to the flavored snus - only General mint, wintergreen and Thunder ES Frosted right now - but thinking Coola will be good. And, I have never warmed to general op - so i still have to place orders and take that huge shipping cost hit. Until stores get more variety, probably not gonna be runnin into the gas station for Gobstoppers and snus any time soon. Though this is an encouraging sign.

That sounds good to me, I just got an order in today but it was a small one. I get paid next thursday so anytime after that i'll be ready to put an order in, just let me know. Yea I would for sure be intirested in those as well.

I have just learned of snus this past week and as a mint lover went with Camel Frost from my local smoke shop. After reading quite a bit here I see that I have much better choices although it seems no one in my town carries any of the real Swedish snus and am not sure I want to drive an hour to get it. I am not a heavy smoker, but want to quit. I still want to enjoy my nicotine and flavor and that's why I think snus will be my new best friend As a woman I don't know anyone who snus's, but have no problem being different If you could recommend some flavors & brands that aren't as strong and heavy I would really appreciate it. Thanks for all of your help.

Welcome to SnusOn! I think you'll find it quite cozy here.

You may want to start out with some of the mini portions. They seem to be just right for a lot of people switching over from camel products. General Dry Mint White comes to mind for a good starter. I also liked Catch Eucalyptus when I first started but not so much anymore. Each of those have about 4mg of nic per portion. If you want a little more potent version, each also comes in 8mg portions. I imagine you'll also prefer white portions over original portions at first too. The best snus I found when transitioning into swedish snus was Jakobssons Ice Fruit. It has 9mg of nicotine but it was the first one I really enjoyed. It sort of tastes like juicy fruit with a hint of mint to it.

You may also want to order a trial pack from General. It's cheap and it's a nice variety to start with.

Oh and if you don't like anything at first, don't give up. They are very different from the Camel Frost and might take a few tries to really appreciate them. As others have said repeatedly, your tastes will change when it comes to snus until you settle in and find your daily go-to snus.
