How to keep lös as a pris?

    Hey

I'm trying to use lös snus for the first time, but I have a problem.

The pris keeps crumbling under my lip. The result is that I have small pieces of snus between my lips and teeth. The pris is hard to keep as a chunk.

Are there any good advices on how to keep the pris as one under my lip and not as a million bits of snus between my teeth and lips?

Can be tough curve to learn as I'm finding out. Especially considering all the different textures/cuts of snus whilst minute, they do make a difference when learning.

Are you handbaking or using an 'icetool' or 'prismaster'?

Here's a thread that may prove helpful --> Dipper's guide to snus

Just put it in gently, and use your tongue to push it into place. It takes a little practice. Also try to put it as close as you can to the front of your mouth as possible.

OK let me see if I got this straight…… if I live overseas and order snus and it doesn’t make it to America in 14 days…….no wait……..If I’m 14 and I order snus while visiting America……...no that can’t be it……hang on……ok ok got it… if after 14 post my snus is still not here……no……….

Could you repeat those instructions PP? I seem to be locked out of the thread.

In the meantime, welcome Jean78. Most often the problem is one or more of these issues:
            1. The Bake
            2. The grind of the snus
            3. The placement in the mouth
            4. The process of getting it into the mouth

On the Dipper's Guide to snus there is a lot of helpful info about each of the above and more. Rather than repeat it all here, I'll just include the link:

            http://www.snuson.com/viewtopic.php?t=4014

Keep us posted and let us know if you are still having problems after 14 days....no wait....that's something else....

Anyway snus on bro and enjoy the ride.

It takes time that you learn to bake a good pris/ball whatever. Take your time.

The size was the problem. I tried to make the pris smaller. Now I can hold it together for a longer time and I do not have the snus between my teeth.

Im handbaking. Its not a problem for now... I have used portions some time now and I'm just trying the lös.

Are there any difference in taste between lös and portion snus from the same brand? And which lös snus is the best?

I might buy a icetool if I learn to love the lös ;-)

Some lös is dramatically different from the portion, and some only mildly so, but they're all different. It's worth trying them both to see which you like better.

I have an icetool and haven't used los for quite a while but I tend to squeeze my portions so if I squeeze the pris its certainly going to melt or smash down into my teeth isn't it? And if I don't squeeze it, then the middle will get wasted won't it?

I use my tounge to wipe across the prilla while at the same time keeping the prilla in place. At the end of 2-3 hours there's nothing left of it. Nothing goes to waste. 8)

Andy, are you aware that Icetool sponsors and makes possible this forum??

Just curious, they don't make a big deal of it, have NEVER used that position to try and market what they sell. But still, they DO make Snuson possible.

So many folks who have used this site for a long time, many folks who are grateful for the pleasures that Snuson brings them. Some of us think that folks should buy an Icetool just because.

I realize it isn't your thing. I know folks have been using los for hundreds of years without one. However, it works amazingly well, does exactly as it should, and is just so gosh darn elegant and cool as a tool.

And lastly, especially for new folks to los, it really does just make it so much simpler an easier to make a pris. Hence the advice often to newbies to consider getting one. So, final question to you. Have you ever tried one???

If not, then how the f*** can you say that advice is misleading????????????
