I've told about 4 or 5 people about it, even offered to give them a tin to try it, but none of them wanted to. It's not like I went on a sales pitch either, just a case of "Hey dude, I found this stuff and it helped me quit smoking, wanna give it a go?". None of my business if they don't want to try.

Yep Mordred, I know exactly what you are talking about. I show and/or tell every smoker I know about it. They see how easy the transition has been for me, I explain how it is NOT dip or chew, they SAY they want to quit, and they just shake off my offer of a free can to try for themselves. "Nah, not interested, I will just quit cold turkey", lol. Ok, whatever. To them I just say. "Well you don't really want to quit yet then".

My wife resisted, finally broke down and tried a General Dry Mini Mint the other night. Said she liked it. I was very happy, but did not push the subject (you gotta know my wife to understand, lol). So I wondered if she was going to keep using them. She got home from work yesterday and told me she used them all day in work and did not have one cig. I was SO happy to hear that. So I have to hurry up and order a selection of white mini's for her.

I've told a few smokers about it and I usually get the "ewwww, you're chewing?" line thrown at me. I did let my son in law take some of my packs of Discreet since those are what I think is perfect to try and get someone switched over, but it didn't work. My brother in law likes wintergreen, so I let him have some General Wintergreen portions and he said it burned and continues to smoke. Another friend was here and saw a tin of F&T High Dry Toast on my desk, opened it, and said "yuck, that doesn't smell like toast!" and kinda laughed. Seems like a losing battle sometimes. I've also told people about the Ariva and Stonewalls since those don't look remotely like tobacco and also had no luck with that.

Yep, to these people I say, "You only say you want to quit, you don't actually want to". Snus is as close to a Big Red Easy button as there may ever be when it comes to giving up the cigs, all you gotta do is give it a fair chance.

Here in South Central Texas when you pull out a can all you hear is "Ugh that's Dip", at which point you don't even bother saying anything cause you can hear they're mind close. But a couple of young classmates have switched from dip to snus, one ran out of Skoal and was about to start chewing on the desk when I gave him a Thunder Frosted Mini. It was enough to take the edge off, so I gave him a couple of URL's, now he's a happy snusser with Thunder Frosted and Skruf Stark. The other one wanted to know how I could stand to swallow the juice, so I explained the difference and he should be getting a couple of sample packs this week.

I don't talk about it unless I am asked.

A coworker mentioned he was trying to quit smoking, knew I quit with dip then moved to snus, asked about and tried one of my mini potions a week ago. Long story short, he just got his first order today.

              I never push it.

              Mike

That's exactly what I think too. For me to quit was nothing short of a miracle since I was one of those who nobody ever thought would quit, I never though I would either. Snus is an amazing quit tool...much better and cheaper than any prescription or over the counter quit smoking aids which never worked for me. They're just not strong enough or something.

Maybe they should start commercials about snus that are like those old ads from the 70's for alka seltzer..."Try it, you'll like it!"

I tried to get my mom to switch to snus. Didn't work at all.
