5 FIGURES??? Damn man you are one lucky sonofabitch! You're going to get paid some solid cash to do yourself the easiest and one of the most meaningful favors. Better make sure you are "allowed" to still use nicotine to satisfy this bet. Cuz I'm telling you... if you were just another noob I would totally go with lxskllr's advice and Veganpunk and just say "yeah, don't sweat it if you smoke, keep at it and your cig cravings will slowly go away", but with all that money on the line, and drawing from my personal experience, I have to say it again. It's easy!! too easy. Each time you want a cig so badly, pop in some Thunder or Odens or General Extra or best yet like pris said Skruf Extra Stark, and think about how you would prefer something that cost more than 10K over a stupid smoke! lol good luck

Until you get some stronger stuff in, double barrel those General Originals if you feel the need to smoke.

With two portions in instead of one, that drive home shouldn't be as bad. I still remember how much of a habit it was to have a smoke while driving... one of the main reasons I couldn't quit via "regular" methods. But honestly, when I started using snus, driving without smoking became a lot easier. Good luck, and hopefully you'll get a nice nic buzz from the extra portion that'll help make your drive home a little more enjoyable.

I wish you the best, and I hope that you find that it becomes a lot easier to get through your day without the monkey-on-a-stick on your shoulder!

Welcome Wannaquit. I wish I'd been offered a bet like that. General Ekstra Sterk portions made it so easy to quit a 40+ year smoking habit. Fifteen months smokefree. Best of luck to you!!!

I saw the 60 minutes special last night. Wow never new this stuff existed! The timing couldn't have been better. I made a huge bet with a friend that I could quit smoking for 1 year. Bet starts first Monday of April which is obviously today!

I smoke on average almost 2 packs a day. Been smoking for about 23 years.

I went to the store this morning and bought camel frost and mellow. Ok but not very strong. Then I went to a cigar shop and bought General White, Original, Mint and White mint. So I will try these.

              My questions are the following

              Is there anything stronger available?

              How much should I use?

How long should I keep it in?

I am very happy to find this forum. It seems a lot of you have found success in quitting and look forward to your advice.

              Thanks you!!!!
You DO NOT understand how utterly happy this makes me.
FINALLY, something good comes out of the media.
I REALLY encourage you to STOP all together.
If you have to i would dual wield some thunder!

One bit of advice. Unless you really want to quit, snus won't work. Be careful with the nicotine load. In my own opinion, an 8 mg snus like General Original will take care of any craving if you let it sit for a bit (20-30 minutes). There is no snus that will instantly cure your cravings, just make them very manageable. I wouldn't be so quick to double barrel or use sterks if you are just starting to use snus. You could end up getting sick and not liking snus at all. In fact, you may find that a mini portion (3-4 mg) will work 90% of the time. This is just my 2 cents worth.

Welcome to Snuson, and congrats on quitting smoking, even if it's for a bet, you're better off. I smoked for 20yrs and tried everything to quit smoking. Snus will get and keep you off the smokes if you really want to quit smoking. The snus will completely satisfy your physical needs for nicotine, but it's the psychological aspects that can be difficult to deal with.

What I did was...All the times that I would normally have a smoke, first things in the morning with coffee, drive to work, breaks at work, after meals, sex, whatever it was, use snus. Don't change a thing, other than substituting the smokes with snus. I personally feel using Ekstra Sterks (extra strong) snus enabled me to quit more easily, but that's me. If in a few days, you still have cravings that the regular portions aren't killing, then you may need a stronger snus. The key...listen to your body and try and recognize the things that make you want to smoke.

My typical day would go like this...get up and pop in an Ekstra Sterk with coffee, and then use a reg portion on the way to work. I used reg portions through the day, until I had a bad craving..then I'd use an Ekstra Sterk again. I used the reg. portions to maintain the nicotine levels in my blood to help prevent the cravings, it works to some extent, but the cigarette cravings will still happen...so kill them with ES.

If the juice starts to burn your throat, or bother your stomach...it's normal and will pass after about a week or so. You're body is adjusting to this new nicotine delivery system. I used a drink, or just water to sip on while snussing during the first two weeks. Now it's not a problem. The salt content will be less noticeable after a couple weeks too.

Hang in there, and if you have questions...please ask, we'll answer!

                      Hey

i quit smoking last Thursday been popping Skruf Starks around 3/4 of these a day with the odd other as i bought a try out box and with the purchase the skruf came as an offer buy 2 get one free or something

Anyway back on topic lol I’ve not smoked since Thursday needless to say i have a pack of 10 here just in case i feel like one im not going to beat myself up over having the odd one but i found myself reaching for the snus rather than the cig's mind you i don’t have money riding on it just my own personal reasons lol

i have found it quite easy to follow what would be my smoking "ritual" or habit whatever you want to call it rather than lighting up i pop a snus in it seems to help as you will associate that with getting your nic hit at the points in the day you were before .

Though i need to find something with the extra 2 hrs of my day i have managed to reclaim by not having to “go and smoke “! lol

                      Good luck to you

                      (Edit)
One bit of advice i picked up from giving up smoking last time is have your car thoroughly valeted
Get rid of all the smells of smoking and you won’t think about them so much while been stuck in traffic

Well actually more like once you sense of smell comes back it won’t stink to high heaven lol

Sounds like you might have overdone the nicotine a bit. It'll sneak up on you, and you won't feel so hot for a little while :^D

I am sure you have already started to received your order, however if you ever run out there are more than a few places in Houston that sell General. You can go to the General website to find a place near you. I tried Spec's the other day and they only had General mint white samples, so unless you go to one of the cigar shops I would call first.

The good thing with snus is that as soon as you take it out of your mouth -the nic decreases reasonably quickly and the sick feeling should go in about 15-20mins. You'll find your level.
