    Well I am convinced.

First off this from my crackberry, so please excuse any errors.

After seeing the 60 Minutes reports, I started looking around and decided to give snus a whirl. I have been smoking for the better part of 10 years and never really tried to stop. I really enjoy pipes, but find it takes so long to smoke them that I end up going with the cigarette. The flavor of the pipe tobacco is muffled by the cigarettes as well. I would love to drop the cigarettes and smoke pipes exclusively, but the nic kick just isn't there...or usually the time. I ordered 5 cans of Skruf Stark and an extra stark just in case. My order has not arrived yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

From all I have read here and elsewhere snus will quickly overcome the want for cigarettes, and has less health risk than sitting in a lazy boy. So, glad to be here, look forward to getting off cigs and tasting my pipes again. I'll keep you updated on my first ever snus.

Awesome man, glad to have ya! I'm only 2 days on this site myself, lol.

However, I read a TON (especially new stuff I'm excited about) and the consensus from what I can tell is people are really polarized on Skruf. Those who love it love it, everyone else, hates it. Point being, if that turns out not to be your speed be sure and give another brand/flavor a try.

I'm keenly concerned with making sure people try more than just one SNUS because Camel SNUS almost made me give up on SNUS altogether. If I hadn't come across this site and then tried some General White I would have missed out altogether and still be stuck huffing arsenic once an hour.

Welcome to SnusOn. I second the try everything! I personally like Skruf, not my main snus, but I'll use it once in awhile. There are so many different flavors out there, and the longer you go without smoking, your taste buds will come back and you'll be able to fully taste the snus. Also, pay no mind to the salt. Snus is salty at first, Skruf isn't too bad though. The longer you use it, the less you even taste the salt.

Its funny, I kinda quit smoking with snus on accident. I mean its only been a week but it just happened so quickly. For the first time I could smell someone else smoking somewhere close to my apartment, very weird. I was thinking about switching to pipes to quick cigarettes before I found snus but the snus seems to want a monogamous relationship. LMAO Good luck on your journey.

PS any good pipe tobacco flavors to recommend in case I do give pipes a go??

            I second that.

I think it was a couple of weeks before the salt taste subsided.

You may/may not need the starks. Coming off the smokes, the 8mg did me just fine and I was a nicotine junkie..wait..was???

              Try a bunch

Don't throw anything away. If you don't like one brand, stick it in the freezer and revisit it in a few months. Your taste will change.

Enjoy the ride and welcome to the forum.

Also (as an aside) it’s good to see so many of our newer members paying it forward.

Even though you already use nicotine, that Skruf is absolutely going to kick you in the teeth. Keep a puke bag handy. Dont even think about touching the extra sterk yet. You really should have started with some regulars, not the strongest damn snus there is!

Thanks for the heads up. I hope your snus adventure exceeds your expectations. :P

                    Got my order today.

Well I can say it is interesting...not really what I expected. Not overly salty, seemed slightly bland at first, but all I really have to compare it to is American dip as far as smokless tobaccos go. If I were to try and describe the taste, I'd say a good tea flavor.

I am feeling a decent buzz, I've had this portion in an hour now. However, I'd say the dizzy, puking, diarrhea, hiccuping sickness seems to be a bit of hype, but it is definately the first smokless product that has completely killed any cigarette craving that I have yet to try...

                    Overall very pleasant experience.

Oh yeah, I was dying for a smoke...didn't smoke all day cause I figured this would be in todays mail...so working pretty good I'd say.

Welcome BHMitchell. I'm waiting for a roll of Skruf Extra Stark myself. I love the stuff. Some people are more sensitive to large doses of nic than others, hence the stories of puking and 'rrhea. I'm not one of them. Enjoy your snus, and like everyone said, try it all, it's a fun little hobby, and works amazingly well for getting of the cancer sticks. Welcome to snus!
