I for the life of me cannot find the supporting docs, but If i remember right it was pretty close comparison. Something like 11-12 mg in your average dip.
Some websites claim "dip" delivers three times the nicotine of a cigarette. These claims are misleading, since the amount of available nicotine is much higher than the amount absorbed.

Excellent point, snusjus. Most people don't realize how ridiculously easy it is to lie with statistics. Even doctors get fooled by misleading statistics in medical research -- most doctors only get about one semester of training in statistics in medical school, if that much. But you only have to look at who is funding the research to know in what direction it will be biased. The ancient saying Cui bono? (Who profits?) still applies.
I think you only truly absorb .1-3mg's of any smokeless tobacco maybe more with these new fangled extra sterks and such.. Can't back that up with a site but damn it sounds so freakin' familiar. WHere did I see or hear that?
