    Snus newbie

Hi, I've been using snus for a week now and have a question about its smell. Virtually all the cans I've tried have that strong tobacco / bergamot smell. I was wondering if this is native to all tobacco or do the snus folks purposefully flavor them this way? I'm asking because I've never liked this smell, even before snus, and thus far have just been trying to tolerate it. It reminds me of old geezers. Anyway, if it's unavoidable then I'll try to get used to it. But are there any medium to strong nicotine snus that dont have this smell?

Right now, I've settled on using General Mint and General White, the most tolerable of all the cans I've tried. All of this is for the sake of my quitting smoking. I don't know if I can do it. If it weren't for the smell it would be a lot easier. It's funny that the first snus I tried were Camel and Marlboro, and neither have that unpleasant smell. They smelled great, actually. But it's unfortunate that neither have the nicotine I need.

Well, thanks in advance for any useful input or advice.

    HI welcome to snuson

not all snus smell that way.

I would recommend you try Offroad Frosted if you like mint.

Grovsnus and Ettan for a pure tobacco flavor (and no bergamont smell )

stong snus without the bergamont smell would be any of the Thunder's, Oden's ES, and Grov Svart

regular nic snus would be Phantom brown, Grovsnus, and Ettan

hope this helps and don't worry about the smoking, it gets easier to quit.

        Welcome!

Many people (myself included) smell ammonia, not bergamot, when we open a can of snus. And yes, some brands are worse than others. But to get rid of whatever smell you dislike, you might want to try the tip given in this thread: http://www.snuson.com/forum/showthre...-smell-in-snus

        It works.

Welcome to SnusOn! You will learn to love that smell in time. For now, just don't smell it. The smell goes away when you put it in your mouth

            Welcome to Snuson allen200

LOL, there is a famous saying here on Snuson... Don't smell the snus!!!

Seriously, as you use more, you will notice it less and less. And bergamo is a classic snus flavoring. But not all snus has it, so keep trying.
