A few questions...

Hello all, Just had a few questions about snus.

1) What is the difference between purified portion snus and regular?

2) I went to open my tin of general wintergreen and there was tobacco everywhere and one of the pouches broke open. As i cleaned some off i noticed others were starting to open. The seams on the side were starting to seperate. Is this common, or did i do something wrong?

Hi, Welcome to SnusOn!

Purified Portion = Oomph, Only available through Northerner. It's supposed to be VERY low in TSNA's. No discernable tobacco flavor, decent nic hit. Doesn't stain teeth.
White Portion = Portion that does not go through the final addition of moisture - a bit dryer, tends to last a big longer before it starts to drip.
Regular Portion = Normal portion, goes through the final addition of moisture - IMO a bit easier on your gums in terms of feel.
Maxi Portion = Bigger Regular portion
Stark = More nicotine

It is nothing like real snus but it does satisfy nicotine cravings. My favorite is citrus menthol. The flavor is quite mild but it last a long time. The other thing I noticed about purified snus is that it is very consistent in quality and I have never had a bad portion of purified snus yet. Snus.com is probably the cheapest place to get it especially if you like to order in bulk. I think I also saw a post by Chad earlier that mentioned that the inventor of purified snus is also behind a lot of the nicotine replacement products out on the market today.

Enjoy - in my own opinion, the licorice is OK but a bit on the plain side. The citrus menthol is better and has a bit of a burn to it when you use it. Oomph is also nice as no one will ever know you are using it.

seems you've gotten the info on purified portions, give them a try. They do pack a good nic hit for a mini portion. As for the Gen Wintergreen busting open, I've heard of this happening. Let the store that you purchased it from know, they'll help you out. If it was a freebie pack....sorry dude, lol. Good luck and welcome to snus!

Actually tbp4cfym, since you are new here, I will let you in on a secret. Los is made by the Devil!! True. If you want to remain pure, stick with portions.

As for the portion opening up, General Wintergreen is famous for that. Something about the Wintergreen seems to eat through the portion bags. Although any portion *can* open up, it almost never happens with any other type. GW...... it is common.

I've had problems with several cans of thunder now also having busted portions, and frequently spilling open as I place them in my lip as well. Assumed it was a quality control thing.
