    Happy to be snus newb

I've been lurking and learning here for a while now and thought it's about time to say hello. I quit smoking 45 days ago and have come to love snus to the point that cigarettes are not just unnecessary but undesirable.

I had been considering quitting smoking for a while but knew it would be difficult and unpleasant for myself and anyone else who had to be around me. Like many others in the US, my first encounter with snus was RJRs Camel SNUS. Although I initially thought Camel SNUS was pretty good, the sweetness quickly got tiring and the nicotine too weak to totally replace cigarettes. Since I liked the idea of Camel SNUS but not so much the actual product, I started to research on the internet (mostly here and the GetSnus forums but I think I've seen everything snus related on the internet) to find out what this stuff was and if similar products were available that might be more to my liking. The curtain was pulled back. There were not just similar products but the original products with a history and tradition centuries old. Snus that was not created by a marketing study or a product test panel. Snus that is REAL. After a few days of research I was convinced that Swedish snus would enable me to quit smoking for good and enjoy doing it. I was so convinced that I placed an order with GetSnus for 1 can of almost every portion snus they had and then gave away most of a carton of cigarettes, vowing not to buy any more. I smoked my last cigarette the day before my order arrived so by the time it arrived I was ready to go at that shipping box tooth and nail. Swedish snus did not let me down, Thunder Frosted was the first one I opened so the nicotine was more than satisfying. Now after a month and a half of snusing without looking back, I don't think I'm trying to quit smoking. I'm a non-smoker.

I want to thank all the regulars here for sharing the knowledge and encouragement with those of us who are still discovering the benefits and pleasure of quitting smoking with Swedish snus.

Sorry if I went on a little long there. I still have the evangelist zeal of a new snus convert.

Hey, how many chances do I get to say "Minnetonka"? I love it!

Welcome! I love that new snuser fervor. There's nothing better than quitting smoking.
This past weekend, I mowed my lawn and my mother-in-laws lawn in one day. It was a very hot sunny day and together, that's alot of grass. She said I didn't have to do it, and she couldn't believe that I wasn't even breathing hard.
My retort: "Well, I don't smoke."

                            Welcome to the board.

                            I'm a new snus'er too.

I can't believe how quickly I was able to eliminate a majority of the smokes I was smoking per day.
