Snus Newbie

Hey gang, I just discovered Swedish Snus this week.

Found this forum this afternoon and I'm hoping to learn a lot from all of you.

Quick (stupid ) question; On the lid of General cans, what is the little disc that pulls out for?

Welcome to SnusOn! The little compartment in the lid is for storing used portions, in case there's not a trash can handy.

Welcome to the forum Myuserid. There's a ton of useful stuff here, and a lot of helpful people (and a few freaks ), I tend to count myself in the latter group.

As to the disc on the lid, the compartment is the "ashtry" nominally used for the storage of used portions, but I typically put a different type of snus in there to have variety during the day when I'm out and about.

Alright, so I figured putting this here would be better than starting a new thread.

Five months ago today I tried Swedish Snus for the very first time. General White. I picked up a sampler from the tobacco shop where I am now known as the "snus guy"...

A lot has changed for me since June 2. I've learned a ton from everybody here, and have been singing the praises of Swedish Snus to a lot of the smokers I meet. I quit smoking on June 19, and have been happy, not to mention breathing easier, ever since. I wish I would have found snus sooner.

I also wish that I hadn't said, "That's pretty nifty" in the above post on June 3. Hahahaa.

I think I use the word nifty more than the general population does. No sense in letting a nifty word like that go unloved :^P

Yeah, I've really learned a lot since June.

Haven't tried snuff yet. Though I'm sure I will eventually. I have started having one or two dips a day though.
