    Kissable Snus?

    Hey everybody,

First post - woohoo! I am relatively new to the world of snus and was hoping you could give me some advice. I have never been addicted to tobacco, but have tried cigarettes, pipes, and cigars. The only one that was tolerable was a pipe, but it made my mouth taste icky, and the health concerns made up my mind for me.

Then I hear about snus, and order some. I have one every day at work, or every other day. I did it wrong at first, (putting it in the lower lip), and after a bit of dizziness, and a case of the nic-hics, I now kinda like it.

So first question - ask your wives? - is kissing someone who snuses icky? I can't tell but I am worried about it!

Fast forward to now. Last one I had was Thursday; I wanted to see if I was getting addicted, so I said to myself why not go a week without snus? Well, I almost had one Friday, and was thinking about driving to the office this weekend to get some... I am not fully addicted yet, but I am worried - this is pretty powerful.

So tell me now - should I pursue this as a gentlemanly indulgence? Or quit while I still can?

    Quit now.

    /Thread

Really, If you are aware you are on the verge of being addicted, stop.

It is not worth the money, time and health risk to a non tobacco user.

For gentlemanly pursuits, tobacco is not one.

Am I allowed to respond here? As a wife, I don't mind kissing with snus in, that's because I am the one using! I have never had any complaints, mainly because I think my husband is just happy when he gets any sort of attention. LOL

        Welcome to Snuson CzechZzar

So are you asking us if you should become addicted to nicotine??? I was 9 when I started, that was MY reason for being stupid, what would yours be??

Not meaning to sound harsh, really. And I actually use nicotine for medicinal reasons so know better than most that there *can* be good reasons to start using.

But don't think you have any, I just think you have been lucky and never gotten caught before as you played with nicotine. But it WILL catch you eventually. So absent good reasons to become addicted, I would say you should just stop.

As to your other question, my wife uses snus, so not an issue. I actually met her here. So yes, I have a snus in all the time when we are "together" LOL.

I smoke hookah regularly, but never got addicted to nicotine. So snus is my first real venture into this and I love it, but I feel if I needed to quit tomorrow for some reason I could.

I just enjoy doing it, enjoy life that's what it's about.

About kissing with snus in, most of the time women don't even notice at least for me...

Trust me it wouldn't be easy like you think. Nicotine isn't something you just give up if you are a regular user. If it was I wouldn't have smoked cigarettes for 15 years.

If i was in your shoes I would probably just stick to an occasional pipe or cigar. Why would you want to start if it has never been a habit?

I've done a lot of "addicting" things in the past and I've quit everything cold turkey that I wanted to.

Maybe it will be a little hard, who knows. But I've forgotten my snus at home before and had no problem.

It's really your choice. Life is about enjoying things that you like to do.
I, for example chose to try snus since it's something I never experienced and I like it.
Tobacco has positives, but addiction is a negative that affects many people.

My wife enjoys the taste of snus in my mouth. Sucking face with los is a complete disaster though. We both used to smoke cigs. I stopped seven years ago and she has about two packs/year so it's not much at all.

I've done other things with snus in...

I got on the snus wagon over a year ago, and before that, I was a very occasional smoker, in some ways, I wish I hadn't gotten on the wagon, as my smoking was minimal, and now I do think I am addicted to oral tobacco. It was my extremely boring job, and lack of a heroin connection, that led me to try snus, of course it was the Camel "snus". Now I tell myself I wanna quit, and dam, I just bought some more yesterday. But, I do think I wanna quit, either on my birthday in Aug, or just let this be my last year. Now, I like snus, though it has affected my gums some, but overall, I think I'd like to be free from "using" anything, ideally.

This thread has me depressed. I just ordered a crap load of snus and I'm not an ex-smoker nor am I addicted to the snus that I currently have.

Looks like the curiosity got the best of me, but I don't plan on pursuing it past this last order.

                              Welcome to the board.

I'm new to snus to (a week ago today). I was a pack and a half to two packs a day smoker, not I only have about 3-4 a day. Soon to get rid or those too and solely snus.

I would agree with Monkey.....if you're not addicted, quit while you're ahead.
